MIDDLETON
Feet scampered across the rooftops as a group of armed militia chased down a lone figure. It was dark so it was hard to see a face but they knew it was a woman, they knew it was her. She had went off the grid for eight years and now they had found her. She jumped off of one building over to the next, as the soldiers opened fire on her.
She couldn't expect them to understand, I mean how could they, they weren't there. Tears flowed from her face, as she thought back to that day. She was only eight years old, when everything went south for her. She continued to run across the rooftops of the once proud city of Middleton, now reduced to a haven for thugs, low lifes, and villains alike.
"It's my entire fault that this is happening." She said. "If I had just listened to you, been more patient like you told me to be, you'd still be here."
Signs of a storm was rolling in became apparent as the lightning streamed through the sky. She leapt over to another building, but upon landing the ledge under her foot collapsed. She let out a scream as she fell downward, but she soon acted quickly. She pulled out her lasso and used it to catch on to a part of the fire escape. She landed on the ground gently in an alley. Then lights flashed in her face. Green eyes squinting at the bright light. Using her arms to shield herself.
"Is that her?" a voice spoke.
"Yes sir. It's just like in the reports."
"Well, well after all this time you finally show yourself, and that garb no less. You've got some nerve." He said, referring to her black midriff top and cargo pants.
"Hands up in the air now!" he shouted. His soldiers aimed their weapons at her, just in case she tried something.
The brunette girl raised her hands. "Look you don't understand, just give me a chance to explain."
"What's there to explain, we understand plenty." He said. "Jocelyn Possible, you're under arrest for the murder of Kim Possible."
