Get on with it!

Xander walked out of the building, enlightened. Who'd have known that a couple of hours could change his outlook on things so drastically? He now knew that what he had done was wrong, and he'd have some major groveling to do to fix things.

flashback:
"Anya please, I love you. Take me back."
"Xander. No. I told you this before. I'm not going to take you back until you apologize."
***
Anya wanted an apology? Well, she'd get one. If you had asked Xander if he would say he was sorry only one day earlier, he would have laughed. It's nice to know you can be so entertaining, isn't it? Not only did Xander Harris not apologize, he'd been in the right! But now...now, he knew the error of his ways, and knew that he couldn't be so stubborn as to let the woman he loved get away because he'd been such an idiot.
Xander walked the path to the elevator, praying that it would take its sweet time getting there. There'll be time for practicing on the way up. Xander said to himself. A single 'ding!' sounded out and interrupted this train of thought.
Xander stepped onto the elevator. He depressed the button for the correct floor and leaned back against the wall. He reflected on how he had almost thrown away his dream life, and all because he couldn't swallow his pride.
Xander stepped off of the elevator and made his way to the door of the apartment he and Anya had once shared.
Xander knocked on the door to his old apartment. The wait was precious few moments, but they were also the most torturous of his life. He would honestly rather have been trapped in a room with Angelus than had to do what he was about to. But he had to do it. The chances that she would take him back after he talked with her were slim enough. If he didn't do this, they'd be nonexistent.
What would happen? Would Anya take him back or would she kick him to the curb again?
"Xander?"
"Anya. I'm sorry. You were right. I just saw it. Spiderman does get paid for fighting crime."
THE END
And he does. He may not walk up to people and say, "Hello, I just saved your life. Give me money," but he does take photographs of himself beating up bad guys and sells them to his boss, the owner of the paper, "The Daily Bugle."
