At the moment she caught his eye, Rome knew that he simply must have her.
Never had he seen an exotic beauty that wasn't confined to a brothel. He was told that Alexandria held many fascinating sights, but never did the empire think this also applied to the women.
"Hercle!" He cried out to her, "Have I gone mad from the sun or has a goddess really appeared before me?"
The woman turned and stared him down with her amber eyes, yet denied him any response.
Rome continued, "Juno and Venus must throw themselves at your feet and worship your beauty."
The corners of her lips curled into a smirk, "I have never heard words like those come from a Romans tongue." She chuckled, "What is the reason behind such blasphemy?"
Finally. He thought. She speaks.
"Why, it is you who brings forth such words." Rome smiled in a way that made women all over the Mediterranean melt, "My dove, what can I do to make you mine?"
"Aren't you the one they call Rome?" She seemed to be uninterested in his smile, her smirk was fading. The woman crossed her arms, causing Rome's eyes to follow them to where they settled. She wore a thin garment that showed the shadow of her curves, leaving much to be desired.
And, oh did Rome desire.
"I am. And how would you come to know that?" Rome asked, thinking that she was only a woman who had heard Julius address him by that.
Her smirk returned, "I know many things about you and your people."
"Do you know? What shall I call you, O Knower of Everything?" Rome took her hand and was surprised that her expression didn't change as he kissed it.
"I have many names."
"Then tell me all of them so I can remember each and every one."
