Edit: Fixed my mistake
So, I just wrote this because my muse was practically jumping up and down in a most undignified manner and he was starting to look ridiculous.

That was it. He couldn't stand it anymore, the distance between them. He didn't care who was with her if she would only turn that beautiful smile of hers back towards him. It was his own stupidity that had caused this distance and only his humility would be enough to fix his mistake.
He was about to take a step when a voice broke him from his thoughts.
"Their son will save the world you know."
He turned to look at the girl who was now standing beside him.
"Care to elaborate?"
She shrugged her small shoulders in the large robes, the small trinkets jingling as she did so.
"He'll save it from a great evil."
He snorted, such a pathetic prediction really.
"Hey!" She said defensively. "It takes years to refine and divination skills and even then it can come out hazy, I mean, look at the professor who teaches here. Don't expect me to be spouting mysterious mumbo jumbo just yet."
He shrugged un-apologetically and turned his gaze back to the girl in the distance.
"It's true though, their son would save the world." She said, persisting through his silence. "I may not be able to make much out of the fog but that I always see, loud and clear."
His fingers curl into a fist.
"So I have no choice?" He asks through clenched teeth.
"Well, I don't believe the future is set in stone, just that there is always one stubborn possibility that is hard to shake off."
His hand relaxed.
"I could be her friend again, I could make everything okay."
"Could you really?" She paused for a moment. "When you play, you play for keeps or not at all."
"Another prediction?"
"More of a character observation."
This hit a nerve, he spun around to her, his eyes glinting angrily.
"What could you possibly know? I could be her friend."
"Could you?" She challenged. "Could you really sit there and watch while she chooses him, without running or pushing her away again? Could you do it?"
He turned away to stare again. The girl sighed and rolled her eyes.
"The future is what we make of it, just make sure you choose what you feel is right and you'll live with less regrets."
It was as she walked away that Severus made his decision. He chose the little boy. He gave up his everything for the world.
He had hoped that he would be able to live with this decision, but no one warned him about what would happen to her and no one told him that he would have her eyes. Eyes that Severus would look into and remember all that had been lost.
I'm in favour of giving Snape something Happy, though this didn't turn out that way, I also happen to like giving him some less villany face time and this is (I hope) that.
You know the drill I'm sure. Leave me a review and lets see if we can get my muse all excited to write again :D
