I own nothing, all to Bethesda.
A/N:
The song used here is Seth MacFarlane's: You and I
Warning: Kissing, language, and singing.
Lucifer wasn't sure how the argument started. He thinks he said something stupid when he knew that Sarah was short on patience that day. It had been particularly hot and they were dripping with sweat, even inside the cool halls of the Citadel. All he knew is that everything was quiet and then Sarah was in his face, screeching at him.
"Goddamn it, Lou!" She yells at him, the veins on her forehead popping out. "There is no reason for you to be so fucking selfish!"
Ah. Lucifer remembers now. He had left on the anniversary of his father's death. But this time, Owyn Lyons was suffering from a bad bout of the flu. Sarah had looked for Lucifer everywhere and he was nowhere to be seen. She was upset that he was not there for her when she was going through a rough patch.
"Well, at least you have a father," he fires back at her. "My father is dead. Am I not allowed to honor him?"
Sarah shook her head. "It's has nothing to do with our father's Lou! I was looking for you and I need you. You were nowhere and I thought the worst!"
Needless to say, Lucifer put his foot in his mouth by suggesting that Sarah just keep a collar on him if she wanted to know where he was. Sarah responded by slapping him hard across his perfectly tanned face and storming off into the depths of the Citadel. Lucifer stormed off the opposite direction, back out into the wasteland.
Sarah stands outside in the Bailey. Her arms her folded across her chest as she watches the initiates fire at the supermutant targets. She glares at the recruits and their wild shots, shaking her head every time they fail to line up a shot. Sighing, she raises her voice. "Alright, maggots! That's enough!" The recruits stop firing at her command and drop their weapons unceremoniously on the ground. Sarah snarls her lip upwards and drops her arms. She opens her mouth when someone calls her name behind her.
Turning around, she goes to yell at her interrupter, but is greeted with a strange sight. Lucifer is standing in a pre-war tuxedo and a bundle of flowers in his left hand. She closes her mouth and drinks in the form of Lucifer. After their argument, she hadn't seen him in a few days and she missed him terribly. She was just hot and upset and scared. She didn't meant to hit him like that.
Lucifer swaggers towards her, handing her the bundle of flowers her collected from the Oasis. Handling them to her, she takes them gently, smiling. He steps back and presses a few buttons on his Pip-boy. Music began to flow out of the wrist-held device. The music danced around them, filling the yard with its swing and turning all eyes onto the Lone Wanderer. And then, he opened his mouth and sang.
His baritone voice was like melting chocolate to Sarah. She grinned as he stepped close to her again. Gathering her in his arms, he swayed her in time with the music, singing the pre-war love song to her alone. She rested her chin on his shoulder, loving his tight body and his smooth voice in her ears. Her cheeks blushed at the erotic thoughts that raced through her brain.
As the song ended, Lucifer pulls Sarah back and looks into her eyes. "I'm sorry. I was being selfish. I should have been there for you." He brings her hands up to his lips, kissing them gently. "Do you forgive me?"
Sarah smiles and steps closer. She tilts her head and kisses him deeply, as the other Brotherhood of Steel members shout and cheer in joy. Ignoring all around them, Lucifer cups Sarah's face, brushing his thumbs across her scarred cheeks. As they break the kiss, they rest their forehead against each other, so happy in love together.
