Like Father, Like Son

Poppy looked at the boy who lay in her hospital bed after getting his arm de-boned by Lockhart. He put up a slight fight about how awful the Skele-grow tasted, but in the end, he took it, and now his arm was in a sling.

She thought back to James and praised Merlin that Harry didn't inherit all of James'…spirit…when it came to the hospital wing.

-----

"Ow…ow…OW! Dammit, woman! Must you torment me so?" He cried out to the nurse, trying to swoon her into stop poking and prodding at him with her wand by speaking like Shakespeare. It worked before, why not again?

"If you keep squirming, I'll start all over." Poppy sniped back. Sirius and Remus both looked on from a ways behind Poppy, for fear of being hit by her again. They saw her trying to wrap James' arm after fixing his broken elbow due to Quidditch practice. Limbs, both James' and Poppy's, flew all over the place. They were both yelling at one another, and gauze and cloth was flying everywhere.

"Haaaaaaa! There!" Poppy jumped back and effectively ending another one of their struggles with a nice sticking charm. James ended up with his left arm wrapped to his head so that it looked like the arm was growing out of his head, his messy mop of hair poked out of holes, and his right eye was covered. His glasses were askew and half-covered. And, of course, his newly repaired right arm was in a nice sling.

Sirius and Remus looked at James blankly before bursted out laughing. James glared at them with his one visible eye, then turned the glare on the matron who was laughing as well.

The Floo activated and the Headmaster came out and walked to his favorite boys.

"Ah, I see that our wonderful nurse has fixed you all up," Albus said, chuckling.

"I will get this off," he muttered to them.

-----

The soft pitter-patter of feet shook her from her thoughts and a certain redhead and a bushy brown head suddenly appeared from underneath Harry's invisibility cloak.

"Harry?" Weasley spoke. Harry shifted and sat up, which caused the sling to fall off with frayed ends. Poppy frowned in her tiny shadowy corner of the hospital wing. Damn that boy and his genes.

"I don't think Madam Pomfrey would like you to have done that, Harry." Granger chastised.

"Indeed not, Mr. Potter." Poppy said as she came out of her shadow. All three tiny Gryffindors jumped and looked at her.

"Oh, kindly woman. My heart yearns until I may see you again, but I need my arm free, for a human soul cannot fly to liberty without all of his limbs free as well."

"You will not be flying at all, neither soul, or arm, and I don't want to see you in here for the rest of the year. Now hold still and let me get it back on again."

"Ron! Save me! The evil witch has taken me over!!" Harry scrambled away only to be dragged back by a spell from Poppy. Hermione and Ron laughed at Harry's predicament. Poppy and Harry fought; one limb vs. two, and in the end, Harry came out looking like his father did those many years ago. His arm tied to his head and his hair sticking out through the holes in the gauze. And, of course, the de-boned one was healing nicely in its sling.

One brilliant green eye glared at her.

"I will get this off."

"I've heard those words before, and he wasn't able to get it off, even after I took off the sling," Poppy muttered as she walked back to her office, where she cursed the name 'Potter'.

A/N: Those who's read my other one-shots know that my boredom knows absolutely no bounds, and this is one of those bored moments. My friends actually did that to me one year, way back in the day, and this one-shot evolved from that. Hehe
