I do not own Avengers anything.

But I needed to write something fun.

Thor Son of Odin and the Little Human Girl

Thor, son of Odin, mighty warrior of Asgard, was flung so hard and so far that he virtually soared out of range of the battle and landed flat on his back, skidding several good paces before sliding to a halt.

He sat up slowly, shaking his head and gaining his bearings once more.

He was alone. All civilians fled further from the fray.

Rubble of buildings and debris lay scattered everywhere.

He had loosed his grip on Mjolnir. . .

Very unwarrior-like, he mused with fleeting annoyance.

. . . and now the weapon was no longer in sight.

No matter. He would call it directly.

He rose, smacking dust off his battlegear, red cape trailing behind him.

Only to see her.

A small girl child peering at him from a place she obviously had been sheltering.

He started to speak to her but she beat him to it.

"Are you okay? Because you kind of just went through a wall!"

Her frankness surprised him and he smiled offhandedly at her.

"Of course I am okay!" he replied heartily. "I am Thor Odinson! It is the wall who should be hurting, not me!"

For some reason, this struck her as funny and she giggled.

It sounded like raindrops on crystals, if Thor were to muse upon it.

Then he addressed her more seriously.

"You should be away, child. The battle rages near."

Again she giggled and he was struck by her clear blue eyes.

"You talk funny."

He smiled in amusement.

"Do I?"

She nodded, tangled blond hair cascading everywhere.

"Where is your mother?"

She shrugged.

"I don't have one. Daddy said she went to heaven when I was little."

Thor frowned.

"And where is your father?"

She pointed.

"You had better go to him before he misses you."

She nodded obediently.

And then moved toward him, lugging something nearly as big as she was.

Forged eons past by master Dwarven blacksmiths.

Able to summon lightening from the heavens above and wreck destruction upon the earth below, a mighty weapon.

Was Mjolnir, mighty hammer of Thor.

Now being almost effortlessly returned to him by a mere slip of a human child.

She smiled brightly, standing before the God of Thunder in her yellow t-shirt, little girl blue jeans, pink tutu, and worn sneakers.

"You dropped this."

Thor knelt easily, resting on his booted heels until he was eye-to-eye with her.

"What is your name, child?"

She grinned again, showing the missing space where a front baby tooth had recently fallen out.

"Lily."

He studied her carefully.

"Lily. That is a lovely name."

She beamed with pride.

"You should go now, little Lily. Monsters draw near."

She nodded obediently and started to run away.

Then she turned back.

"'Bye, Thor! Kick their butts!"

He brandished Mjolnir overdramatically for her amusement, making her giggle again.

"I shall, little Lily! And thank you!"

She shouted back over her shoulder as she ran.

"Welcome!"

And Thor, son of Odin, mighty warrior of Asgard, sallied forth and won the day.

With the help of worthy little Lily.
