Cute little oneshot I thought off while watching the X Factor. And really, who don't love Beth and Josh. Hope you enjoyed it.

Oneshot

When she received her first kiss it was on the swinging foot bridge in the dead of winter.

It was pure coincident that they ended up at the arts and crafts store at the same time. It was Christmas time and people were always running out to get things for their family's gifts, alone. So it didn't really surprise her when she walked into the store and saw him in the check out line buying water color paint and brushes. Her lighter blue eyes meet his darker blue ones and she gave him a small wave and headed to the aisle with the yarn.

It was a surprise however when he fell into step with her as she walked out of the store. He had been waiting for her.

It was were for him at first, because he wasn't really sure what to say and because it was so cold, snowing in fact, that his lips felt like they were frozen shut. But then he started noticing her dancing azure color eyes, windblown blonde hair, or the pink tingled in her cheeks. The way she pulled her bright red winter coat tighter around her. Peter was right, she was the prettiest out of all of the sisters.

"You knit," he asked, trying to be polite and remembering the manner's his mother taught him.

She looked surprised that he was actually talking too her. "A little. I'm making a scarf for my mom."

That was all that was said for the rest of walk home.

She was halfway across the swinging foot bridge when he called out her name. But she didn't have time to register that he was behind her before his lips were pressed against hers. And suddenly all of her thought disappeared and her entire body felt like it was filling up with hot maple syrup, his tongue swiping against her closed mouth. Her lips where actually pressing against her for her very first kiss.

But then something made a sound in the near by forest, and the kiss ended. She pulled away quickly, her eyes were still close. She felt his warm breath on her face and his lips lightly brush her cheek. And when she opened them, he was was already off the swinging footbridge, already more than halfway home.

Beth Malloy received her first kiss from Josh Hatford at the age of ten, on the swinging foot bridge in the dead of winter.
