There was something about that late spring day. Something about the elegance of the wind rustling the trees – Naruto chuckled. Was it that same wind that he had been trained to think of as a weapon, to manipulate and wield? The peace of the situation struck him. It was so calm, that day in Konoha. Who could imagine a war going on while staring at the beautiful, lazy clouds? Even Naruto was able to relax on his apartment's rooftop on days like this. He stretched his arms to rest them under his head and closed his eyes. The first day in a long time, thought Naruto. The first day in a long time that it's been nice like this. He heard laughing and looked down to see a group of children pointing up at the strange boy sitting up on the roof. He waved at them and laughed along. How long ago had it been that the same children would have turned away at the sight of an orange and black jumpsuit?
"Who cares?" his memory of Sasuke asked him. Naruto smiled and pictured his best friend sighing and rolling his eyes. "What does it matter now?"
Naruto thumped the imaginary Sasuke on the back and laughed. Good thing no one's up here to see me flailing my arms about for no reason. He stood up. "Well, Sasuke, you've just reminded me what I should be doing," he said to nobody, and swiftly jumped off the rooftop to head for the training grounds.
Well, a bit short, and a bit plotless. Or rather, a lot plotless. I've just finished watching Shippuden 56 (yeah I'm a bit behind) so I've just figured out what element Naruto's chakra is. I've also just talked to my friend who told me what's going on in the manga… Very disappointing, I tell you. I'm not sure if I can keep up being a sasunaru fan if Sasuke keeps acting like this. I've pretty much lost all faith in him. Hmm…
Tell me what you think. Pointers are always nice.
