Hey there! This is my first story in Warriors, and in this website! Hope you like it and please leave your comments below! :D
This chapter starts at midnight, in FireClan, where everyone is sleeping peacefully, including the deputy, Hawkclaw.
Hawkclaw's ear's perked up and he opened up his glowing golden amber eyes. He once again heard the crunching of leaves, which had disturbed him. The deputy shook his brown burnished pelt to get the stray grass bits, which had come from the grass bedding and trotted out of the cave to investigate.
As he stepped out onto the clearing, he took a whiff of the air, his pink ears pricked up to listen to the continuous crunching of the leaves which was getting louder by the second. Hawkclaw thought -" Oh I love the smell of the wind, the sleeping bodies of the cats in FireClan, the smell of the river tumbling over the grey pebbles, the smell of the slight drizzle of rain, the smell of the budding boughs and trees, arching high over the cool mossy caves, and the smell of the-'
'Wait!' thought Hawkclaw, in panic, his eyes wide open in terror.
Hawkclaw could smell an intruder.
He flipped around and sprinted to the warrior's cave. Hawkclaw mewed loudly nudging everyone. "Burntail, Stripefur, Dovewing and Smallpelt!" Hawkclaw called out.
"What happened brother?" said Burntail, Hawkclaw's identical younger sister.
Hawkclaw touched noses with her, affectionately, but hurriedly, and announced - "There's an intruder in our territory!"
Everyone sprang up at the name of an intruder looking fierce.
"Dovewing and Smallpelt- Go alert everyone!"
"And Burntail and Stripefur- Follow me."
Said Hawkclaw, shouting out some more orders before rushing away with Burntail and Stripefur.
He reached the clearing where everyone had gathered to strike on the intruder, who had dared to set a paw on the FireClan territory.
Now the sound of the leaves crunching was so close that Hawkclaw thought the intruder could pop out of the bushes any second.
Hawkclaw tensed his muscles.
The leaves in front of him shook a bit and Hawkclaw tensed his muscles a little harder.
Suddenly the intruder trotted out of the bushes, shaking her pelt, and had the shock of her life. She heard the collective cry of the cats who were sprinting to her, and before she could react, she felt the weight of the deputy who had pounced on her and pinned her down, his fiery amber eyes looking down on her, and him breathing fast.
"How dare you enter our territory?!" Hawkclaw roared into the she-cat's ribbon decorated ears. He looked into her face, and realized that her face was vaguely familiar. He stepped back, not believing his eyes.
"No, it can't be her…" he muttered as the long-haired she-cat rose, spitting out grass from her mouth. The she-cat was brown furred, her fur now in tangles, decorated with pink ribbon, a collar around her neck, and drenched in the scent of a kitty pet.
Hawkclaw stared into the her clear green eyes muttering-
"No…Cannot be her, it just can't!"
