The two master assassins walked out of the restaurant. The two were visibly dirty, and to anyone who didn't know them, seemed to be dressed weird. The city around them was in wreck after the rather large battle against Loki and his invasion. Neither of them seemed very fazed by the rubble around them and simply walked away from the restaurant, heading to some unknown location. The two walked in silence, turning right a block away from the restaurant.

Clint slipped one of his hands in his pockets, his other hand holding onto his bow, as he sauntered along lazily, he glanced over at the redhead next to him, "Quite the day, eh?" he said offhandedly, trying to start a conversation. Natasha chuckled softly, "That would be an understatement." She pointed out. They walked silently for a few more blocks. Natasha hesitated before asking the question that had been on her mind the whole time, "What did Loki do to you?" she asked, trying to sound aloof.

Clint looked at her for a moment, trying to find the right words, after a moment he spoke, "He used the Tesseract to…take over my mind, it was almost like he pulled me out and put…something else in." he paused, "It was terrifying." He finished, not looking at Natasha. The spy frowned, "I'm sorry, Clint." The archer shook his head, "Don't be. It's not your fault."

"But I should have been in New Mexico with you. I should have been there to stop it from happening." She looked straight ahead, afraid to meet his eye. "Nat…really, it's not your fault." He assured her, putting a hand on his shoulder, "It all worked out in the end, didn't it?" he smiled gently.

Natasha nodded, "Yeah, it did." She replied, and sometimes that's all they could hope for in their line of work. There was never a 100% chance that they would finish a mission alive and in one piece. And although this had been the toughest thing they've done in their career so far, they had managed to get through it, both alive, with minimal injury. There was some mental damage, but really, in a job like theirs when didn't that happen?

It had turned out even better than expected because now they had a team. Of course, they'd probably all go their separate ways, Thor would go back to Asgard, bringing Loki with him. Bruce would probably go back to India, or perhaps he would stay in New York this time, maybe spend some time with Tony. Tony would be staying where he always had been. And who knew about Steve, he might stay in New York, where he was raised, maybe he would become a SHIELD agent. And Clint and Natasha would stay working at SHIELD as they always had, joining the Avengers when the world needed them again. Who knew what the future held for the Avengers?

Clint smiled, "You know, I think we're gonna be a good team, the Avengers." He told her, "Earth's mightiest heroes." He said jokingly. At this point they came up to their small two-bedroom apartment.
