I do not own Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon. Nor do I own Jaws.

I smirked as I knelt down under the long, green stalks of corn, the yellow grain hanging on top. They hid me, and I saw the shoes of my victim. I mentally played the 'Jaws' theme as I snuck quietly toward him.

I had been planning this attack for months. Now, it was time to act, as the golden summer sun had come and graced the land, and the farmer had planted stalks of corn. Now that they were fully grown and ready to be harvested, I could do this.

Not caring if I got dirt all over myself, I winced as I stepped over a few sharp pebbles here and there, and I sweated as the sun beat down on me. I panted, tired.

But I had to do this.

I had to.

Keeping quiet still, I drew nearer and nearer to my prey...He didn't even spot me among the corn. Hah! Being an earthmate, you'd think he'd notice.

But it matters not. All I could do is ignore the hot beating of the sun, slightly burning me, the sharp pebbles here and there, and the dirt I was now covered in.

Even when I was a foot away, he was so focused on the corn that he didn't notice me.

Finally, he turned over where I was hiding, and I bared my teeth mischievously, jumping to attack my prey.

"BOO!" I shouted, jumping up. Raguna shouted in surprise, and fell down flat on his back, his fawn hair that reached to the length of the top of his neck being thrown into the air as he fell, squashing a few stalks of corn under his back.

I covered my mouth to stifle laughter as I turned ran as fast as my little feet could take me back to my house, Raguna swearing aloud, and shouting at me,

"MIST! YOU'RE SO DEAD!"
