Greetings from SeekerMeeker. Today is a special day, the 9/11...

This is a super-short story, in honor of today...

GDR: Moment of Silence

Somewhere in Northern California, USA

6:50 AM; September 11, 20XX

"God, where are you?"

I felt like it was a dream.

"God, where are you?"

I walked down a city, but now gone.

"God, where are you?"

Suddenly, I saw something.

"Is this city alive?"

"You don't realize?" the man asked. "This city has been abandoned for a long time!"

"Well, I guess I've been wandering around for so long."

"You don't say."

"Where is God?"

"God?"

"Yes?"

"He's here."

"I don't see Him. Look, the whole city is gone, my city is gone, and my FREAK of a peaceful, old life is gone!"

"Stop the smashing. You think you're the worst survivor in the world?"

A helicopter suddenly flew.

"We're here to rescue you!" a voice boomed from the aircraft.

"Two worlds fell apart," the man replied, grabbing the ladder from the aircraft. "But you know, two worlds, my world and yours, fell apart now, but you know..."

The two men watched. The sun slowly rose, and its first gleam of light flashed into the darkened world.

"The sun is rising," the man replied. "Hey you, young man, are you coming?"

I stared into the horizon. The sun seemed to smile, and I realize...

"God, you are still here."

I cried, and waited for two minutes. The helicopter hovered for two minutes. The men onboard waited for two minutes.

"Are you ready?" the helicopter pilot and the man whom I met asked.

"God, you are here."

Thank you for all of your support. Once again, this is another exercise to try out a different type of writing. Plus, I honor everyone who was affected by the 9/11 today. May you all be safe and sound through times high and low.

Sincerely,

SeekerMeeker
