Words Left Unspoken

I confess that when I saw you,
That I was lost,
In something too deep,
For my weakened heart.

I looked upon you,
Eyes accustomed to the dark,
The light that shone through,
hurt me alot.

You had changed,
In so many ways,
There's a light inside you,
That shines in your eyes.

But I don't understand,
Weren't you my friend?
So why is it now,
That this is the end?

You left me alone,
Lost in the dark,
An endless cycle,
Of torn, dirty hearts.

I knew you were scared,
Don't you think I was too?
I didn't really mean,
What I said and did to you.

Divided by war,
With you over there.
You fight the dark,
I fight my fear.

All the words unspoken,
All left unsaid.
I wish I had spoken,
Before you were dead.
