Arthur and the 3 new schools
Elwood City's school board was voting three new Elementary School. It turned out that the school board had lots of money, so they could now afford to build these new schools. Elwood City also was building 2 more subdivisions, since the population in Elwood City was growing. So, at The School Board of Education, The voting took place.
The School Board President, John Wagner, began the meeting, saying, " The voting begins now."
Everyone voted yes. They now think of names for the three schools. The first one was between three members from three different parties, one man was a Democrat, named James Wilson, another man was a Republican, named Kalvin Morgan and there was a woman who was A Democratic Socialist, named Sylvia Dyner.
James presented the first idea, saying, " I suggest it must be United Elementary School."
Kalvin disagreed , stating, " No it must be Peace Meadows Elementary School."
Miss. Dyner, Disagreed with them both, saying, " I think it should be named Victor Debs Elementary School."
Mister Wagner then made his observation, " So, we have heard three really nice sounding ideas for our new school. So, then ladies and gentleman, lets vote."
United Elementary School won the vote six to two. There was another Republican who voted United since schools are named after him. They then began voting on the name of the second school.
Mister Wilson once again gave the first idea consideration, shouting, " It must be Green Meadows Elementary School!"
Kalvin presented the second idea, " No! I believe it should be Tyler Ford Elementary School."
Sylvia then gave the third option by stating, " No, I believe it must be Socialist Elementary School."
The school board picked Green Meadows, five to three. Finally, they began voting on the name of the third school.
James said, " It must be Rising Star Elementary School. For out of this school will rise the stars of the future!"
The voting committee began to " Ooh" in consideration.
Once again, Kalvin disagreed strongly, " No! It must be American Elementary School."
Miss. Dyner then said, " I disagree. It should be Flying Hawk Elementary School."
They ended up picking American, seven to one.
