No P.O.V.
Kim Crawford rode down the street on her skateboard, heading home after going to a store out-of-town. She had just bought a gift for Jack, Jack Brewer, her best friend. "Jack…" she said aloud, shaking her head with a smile on her face. She had been thinking about Jack a lot lately, mostly as more than her best friend… As she came close to the Seaford city limits, she suddenly saw large lines of cars and military troops. She decided to duck behind a bush to figure out what was going on.
Kim P.O.V.
"What the heck is going on..." I whispered. All over the entry to Seaford were camouflaged men holding gigantic guns. I shifted in the bush, which created a lot of noise and one of the men looked over my way. "Shit." He started to walk my way, but was called over by one of his colleagues. "I gotta get out of here." I knew that Jack lived a little ways from here, so if I could only get there… just how to get through the people down there was the problem. It looked as if everyone was getting checked as they went through. I began to creep down the hill when I heard a twig snap behind me. I froze, but then slowly started to turn around. As soon as I saw who it was, I whisper-screamed, "JACK!" "KIM? What are you doing here?" "I think I should be asking you the same thing," I replied. He pulled me in for a huge, warm hug and I felt like my heart was melting… I mean it was an okay hug. "Do you know what's going on?" I asked Jack. "It seems like some sort of take-over, like an apocalypse or something," he said with a laugh. "Are you being serious or…?" "No of course not something like that would never hap-" BANG!
