Pacifica Northwest sat alone in the middle of a small clearing. It was very late at night, so late that even most of the animals wandering about had made it to wherever they were going and had stopped to take a rest. But here she was, alone, in the late hours of the night, or the early hours of the morning; she couldn't tell which.

She began to nod off, and she did this a few times, before jolting awake again, sitting upright. She was waiting for something. Maybe someone. She didn't quite know who she was waiting for. It lurked in the shadows, behind every tree and every small shrub that lined the streets. Every corner of every room, every crevice, ever crack in the wall, it was waiting. She could feel something, watching. Something within herself brought her here every night. This is where she would find it. And her mind had brought her here for the past week, with no sign of ceasing the late night walks. It was a blur from her bedroom to wherever she was now. She couldn't remember how she got here, what path she took, but she still managed to get here and back every day. It was obscure, and she didn't understand. But something buried inside her told her it was right. So when her subconscious began to take over her mind, she would let it guide her to wherever it wanted to take her, and everyday, by the stroke of midnight, it was here.

Her throat burned with thirst. She looked up and tried to focus her eyes on whatever was in front of her; she couldn't do it. Everything was a blur. She hung her head in defeat and placed her hands over her ears, cupping them and concealing any sound from entering her head. It already ached with confusion. She was exhausted, she hadn't slept in almost a week now. It was becoming so bad that she began to spat out random things to people at different times, her body responding dangerously to her lack of sleep.

She pressed herself up against the trunk of a tree, letting her eyelids roll closed and allowing sleep to take over. As she entered this state of slumber, someone wandered upon the sleeping girl. It was another girl; tall, brunette, slim, and conniving; much unlike Pacifica herself. She smiled at the sight of the young girl who had fallen asleep underneath the willow. She walked over to her, and looked her over. She was filthy; her hair was a mess and her clothes looked cheap and ugly, like she had made them herself. The stitching was all messed up and the patterns were.. Well, they weren't really "patterns" per-say. They were more like sad, mere attempts at designs, but were executed in a way that made them look like small lumps of color all over. She had seen her before. She knew her, she was a Pines kid. Her style severely clashed with her personality. Though she had a feeling that underneath the calm demeanor she gave off, she was a confused and nervous child.

She was certainly fun to mess with. But she would be an even more delicious meal. She leaned forward, squatting down so that their heights could match. She gently placed her index finger on the tip of the girls chin, moving her now bared fangs towards her flushed neck.

Pacifica stirred from her sleep and awoke to a gruesome sight in front of her. Mabel Gleeful was leant over her, which was odd to begin with, but something was different from their previous meetings. She had dark red eyes, and sharp teeth on either side of her mouth that looked awfully like teeth that a monster would have. And she was leaning into her closer.. And closer.. She was going towards her neck..!

Pacifica suddenly became aware of her current situation and pulled her hand up from its resting space, using it to push the other girl away from her.

"M-Mabel, what are you doing here..!?"

Mabel stood up, crossing her arms and looking down upon the stunned girl.

"Stupid girl..," she murmured, "I'm just out for.. A bite to eat, I suppose."

A smirk formed on Mabel's lips.

Pacifica gripped the tree behind her, pulling herself up.

Mabel spoke again, "The more important question is, what are YOU doing here?"

She pointed to Pacifica, her finger jabbing into her chest as she did so.

"I couldn't sleep, and it was pretty out here," Pacifica lied. Why would she have to tell the other the truth? She had never cared for her before.

Mabel smiled and sat down against a tree opposite Pacifica.

"It is nice out here, isn't it?"

Pacifica nodded, trying to inch herself away from the other.

"Yea.. This was great and all but, I'm gonna go home now, it's getting late"

Mabel suddenly stood up. She walked towards Pacifica.

"No no, it's summer, it's a time to have fun, why not come back to the tent with me?" Mabel cooed, leaning forward and stroking a finger down Pacifica's soft porcelain-like skin. Pacifica instantly whacked it away from her and frowned.

"I'd rather go home, I think.."

"No, I insist"

Mabel grabbed Pacifica's hands and began to walk in the opposite direction. Pacifica would've objected but.. For some reason, it felt like it was ok. So she followed Mabel all the way back to the oh so famous "Tent Of Telepathy". She was met by a wave from Dipper Gleeful, Mabel's just as conniving twin brother. She was let inside and brought to the back, where Mabel fell onto the stage, grasping her stomach.

"Oh God, I am starving!"

Pacifica awkwardly sat down on the edge of it, twiddling her thumbs.

"Um, eat something then?"

Mabel sat up, looking over at her with her brightly colored red eyes.

"Certainly."

Mabel launched herself at Pacifica, pushing her down against the stage and holding the girls arms up above her head. Pacifica's cheeks flushed darkly.

"Hey..!"

Mabel leaned down, but stopped herself before she could pierce the soft flesh.

"This will only hurt a bit, ok?" She looked up at Pacifica.

Pacifica wanted to protest; all of her body was saying no and was fighting back, but somewhere deep inside of her everything was saying yes. She didn't want her life to end like this, but something told her that she had to help Mabel. It took every ounce of her willpower to mutter out a small "ok" in a response to the other. And as soon as she did, Mabel pounced.

Her fangs quickly pressed through her once flawless skin and began to suck diligently on her neck. Pacifica screamed and screamed, but it would do her no good. She had made her decision, and it was in favor of Mabel.

The blood was quickly taken from her body, some of it spilling out onto the floor in front of them. Mabel quickly finished, and removed her submerged teeth from the neck of the girl; a small but freshly made bite mark remained. Mabel wiped the blood from her mouth with the sleeve of her shirt, leaning into Pacifica once more and closing her eyes with two fingers. She leaned in again, leaving her with a small kiss on the lips.

"I'm sorry, Pacifica. But it had to be done"
