1990

Flavio watched as Luciano lit up his cigarette as a way of destressing.

Flavio couldn't resist doing the same, and he still wondered why other nations saw smoking as a risk to their health.

It didn't seem to cause him or Luci any harm, but Flavio knew that that wasn't the way that the others would see it.

Flavio sighed and relaxed himself against the building behind him and watched as the smoke drifted upward beyond any control of the physical body.

Luciano's anger seemed to drift away as he relaxed for once by Flavio's side.

The Southern Italian couldn't resist sending a small, relaxed smile towards his North Italian brother.

These moments seemed perfect for them as Flavio did not have to uphold a false facade, and Luciano could melt away his anger and stress though it was by doing something that would slowly damage a human's body regardless of whatever the nation as a general whole thought at the time or a human's individualized opinion or perspective.

It just so happened to actually work for those two nations at least for now though the health hazards never seemed to really gain the prolonged attention of immortal beings.

2005

It hadn't seemed like too long later when the ban on smoking inside public places was enacted in 2005.

Flavio and Luciano slowed down their smoking habit or addiction slightly at least around that point of time though they had rarely smoked indoors before.

Flavio slowly began focusing his attention on other things with soothing intentions such as reading.

He even took up cooking more in an attempt to better his cooking to may be give a reason for a change in bonding styles other than how smoking had initially been a way of bonding and destressing with each other in a potentially hazardous way for their immortal bodies.

It had iffy results in regards to bonding with Luciano more as he was not always calm when he had food placed before him and sometimes he chose to purposely not arrive on time to eat Flavio's home cooked meals.

2015

Flavio watched the current news over whether they'd further ban smoking with an excited and supportive eye.

He was looking forward to a second ban with glee though clearly Luciano wasn't a supporter on another ban on public smoking; this time if it became a law, it would end all public smoking including outdoors as well as within motorized vehicles.

Flavio, though, was pleased that his brother had learnt other coping methods to deal with his excessive anger and stress though no method was ever perfect nor ever would be.

Luciano also spent more time with Flavio willingly again.

Flavio smiled; they were starting to act like a family again sans smoking.

There will always be a rainbow at the end of storms even for them.
