Firefighter
I'm learning how to get up off my knees and all it takes is practice.

Heartache was something she was familiar with.
It lingered around her, echoing in the fragile curves of her heart, reminding her of past events that no matter how many people would surround her, she would always end up alone.
That was only proved correct when Lisanna returned, the pain she felt was bitter-sweet.
She was happy that Elfman and Mira-Jane had their beloved sister back, but the longing in her loves eyes was unbearable.
Every quick glance and casual touch didn't go unnoticed by her and by anyone else for that matter.
People where quick to make excuses, which soon turned into helpless glances, sympathetic looks and words of remorse.
The words of sympathy actually hurt more, who knew that he would be the only one that didn't treat her like some fragile piece of glass, he treated her normally albeit normal to him was rather perverted.
He was like her personal shot of alcohol; he had the most wonderful way of making her forget her problems and literally numbing her senses; funnily enough it had nothing to do with his magic.
When she was drowning in her misery, he would show up wearing little to no clothing and demand that she make him some of her home cooking.
It became a cycle, she would see them together, she would hurt, she would wallow at home and then he would show up like he had some sort of built in "Lucy-needs-cheering-up-alarm".
"You know, your like my fire-fighter" she mumbled to him from her position on his back, after drinking more than her share at the Guild he was begged by the others to take her home "You always know when I need help or cheering up."
He chuckled at the silly girls words, the vibrations making her giggle "Fire fighter eh? Well I've never been called that before."
"No, I'm serious..."she trailed off yawning, "you really do save me sometimes" she whispered
He understood, she didn't need to say any more they had all seen her heartache, the lifelessness within her every step. It made him angry to watch her suffer while they were so happy together, but by damn would he watch her waste away into nothingness because of some little shit.
His thoughts were interrupted when he had to slip his hand to her slender waist to obtain her keys to her apartment.
Grunting her shoved the door open with his steel toe cap boots and looked around her apartment, it was so Lucy like from the bookcases overflowing with books to the double bed littered with soft toys.
Striding over he placed her gently on her huge bed, arms trembling and mumbling to the gods for her not to wake up. Her curtains were open allowing the moonlight to spill through her windows bathing her in a unnatural glow.
Her long blonde hair had come loose from it's pink hair tie causing it to fan out around her head on her plane white pillow, her skin turning a milky white under the moonlight.
Deep pink lips were parted in sleep, a small nasal noise coming from her nose made him smile.
Leaning over her, he kissed her forehead, to him, she never looked more beautiful.

~Something I quickly wrote while my internet was down, I'm toying a bit with Lisanna's return and how it would impact Natsu and Lucy.
Let me know what you think
