A/N: Just a brief intro of the main characters. More to follow in the next few days. Im not trying to be the next big author, this is just to fill my free time, so if anyone actually reads I'll be amazed.
"Dude, are you kidding me?"
"No, I swear, its at number 2!"
"That is totally rad!"
"That's amazing guys!"
The year is 2013 and the totally rad, amazing thing is that the first studio album by these three guys has just peaked at number 2 on the UK official top 40 albums chart.
These guys? They are the three members of punk rock group Cardboard Rocketship.
The first of the three, Kieran Rice, is sitting in the corner of the room in a large plush armchair, drumming a beat on his leg and quietly mulling over the news he's just received.
Kieran is quiet guy, kind of shy around new people. Sometimes people mistake this shyness for him being rude. But he's not. Not even a little, he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met and would do anything for the people he loves.
Kieran has been drumming since he was about 4. He's 22 now, so as you can probably imagine, after 18 years, he's a pretty amazing musician.
He's a fairly attractive guy, though his shoulder length brown dreadlocks aren't entirely to my taste, but hey, I guess it's not me he's trying to impress. He does however, have beautiful blue eyes, full of childish curiosity and excitement. But that's something only his closest friends ever see expressed properly.
On the opposite side of the room is Mike Kitcher.
Mike has been one of my best friends for the last 12 years since we started school together and I love him to death. At 23, he's retained his teenage boyish good looks, with constant messy bed hair and bright green eyes, you can see why the girls love him.
He's also absolutely hilarious.
If people arent laughing? Mike is doing something wrong. He lives to see people smile.
Had he not become a seriously talented bass player, he definitely would have been a comedian, or at least, I think he should've been.
I watch him leaning against the wall, grinning broadly at the news about their album and taking a quiet moment to take it all in and I smile.
The third and founding member of Cardboard Rocketship is Joey, lead singer and guitarist.
Joey Page.
I've known him my whole life. Our mothers were on opposite sides of the maternity ward and we were both born on the same day. Our parents have been friends ever since, and so have we.
Joey is the coolest guy I know and the most handsome.
I steal a glance sideways at him. His brown hair sweeps over his deep brown eyes as he flashes a toothy white smile around the room. His eyes lock with mine for a brief second and I feel a flutter in my stomach.
I love his eyes, they're full of mystery. I've known him for 22 years now and I still never have any idea what he's thinking, because his expression rarely gives anything away. He towers over me at 6'2 and his slightly muscular build just adds to his attractiveness.
Can you tell I have a bit of a crush?
I guess it must be obvious, to everyone but him. But I wouldnt dare tell him, because if it ruined our friendship it would rip me apart.
Oh, who am I?
I'm Jessica Donelly, or Jess, to my friends.
I'm 22 years old and have been managing the band since day one.
I push my long pink hair back from my face and tie it back.
"So..." I look around at the three of them and grin wickedly, "How are we celebrating?"
