Part 1: The Black Shadow

He ran through the woods, breathing heavily, holding his broken arm. He dimly tried to gather his bearing as he heard a rustle in the woods ahead of him. He paused, disoriented. The noise was beginning to move, and soon it became more than one sound. He realized that he was surrounded by the noise, and ran to the left, where the noise was softer. He hurried, holding onto some dim hope that he would make it, that he would complete his task. He saw a clearing in front of him, and began to believe that he was close to the end. His optimisim quickly faded, however, as he saw a dark outline in front of the light of the clearing. He stopped, realizing that the noise he so purposefully lost had quickly returned behind him. He stood still, knowing that he had to succeed in his mission, or failing that, die. He raised his working arm, and shuddered a bit as a beam of blue light erupted from the top of his hand, encasing his cracked armor in a florescent blue glow. He lowered his head a bit, and prepared to make a final stand. He lunged forward, preparing to stab into the figure ahead of him. He thrusted his arm forward, as the figure sidestepped, and rammed an armored knee into his chest. He stumbled backwards, clutching his stomach. After a few seconds, he regained his composure and prepared for another attempt. He let out a war cry as he charged forward with all of his power, willing himself to destroy his enemy, and end all of it. His enemy charged forward as well, staying silent. Their bodies accelerated towards each other, the blue glow lighting the path they ran across. The two enemies collided, and it was all over. He fell forward to the ground, while his arm fell flat where it had been torn off. The enemy turned, and began walking towards him. There was nothing he could do now except wait for death. His rival appeared by his head, and picked him up,
turning him around as he did. There was a look of pure evil and destruction in the enemy's eyes, and his mouth was contorted into a grin. The enemy moved his hand back, and shuddered a bit as a beam of red light appeared at the top of his enemy's hand. "This is the fate that awaits those who believe that they can change what we have built. It's a shame that you had to join the resistence, you would have made a wonderful ender. If you swear allegiance to Masterpiece, perhaps I can spare your life. What do you say?" He looked straight into the enemies' eyes and, in a voice full of pain, said "It doesn't matter what you do to me. Even if you destroy this body, someone even stronger will surface and take my place. Not one death will go unaccounted for." The enemy shook his head, and raised his hand, preparing to deal the final blow. "Goodbye, Shadow." There was silence as the enemy thrusted his hand forward, and ended his life.
