It was getting to be more and more of a problem lately, and Killua was sick of it.

In the beginning it hadn't been an issue at all, and when he and Gon had requested a single room together, they had never received so much as a raised eyebrow.

These days, though…

An hour ago they had checked into their hotel. When they had assured the clerk that a single bed room would be fine, he had given them a knowing look before asking if they were sleeping together.

As if it was any of his business, anyway.

Killua had flushed bright red and pinned the man to the wall, practically growling at him that no, they were NOT, as a matter of fact, and why would it matter to him anyway, and maybe he should keep his big mouth closed and let the guests handle themselves instead of asking nosy questions.

At about that point Gon pointed out that the man looked like he was struggling for air, and he couldn't give them the key to their room if he passed out. Killua let him go immediately, and felt even more embarrassed when the man shot him a look as he handed Gon the key that said his personal opinion was that Killua should be locked up in an insane asylum.

On the ride up the elevator, Gon had asked what Killua had been so upset about and why he had said they didn't sleep together, when Gon was pretty sure they had been sleeping together since the Hunter Exams.

Killua had slumped down in the corner of the elevator and muttered "Not in that way." When Gon then asked in perfect innocence what way he meant, Killua had buried his head in his arms and resolved that the next day, he was going out and buying some educational material in the form of several magazines, and assigning Gon to read them all the way through. It was clear that Mito-san had been negligent and there was no way he could tell Gon himself.
