Christmas Eve in Paris, the night where kids played in the snow with their friends, parents watched skillfully while sipping hot cocoa, and couples of all kinds snuggled together to shield themselves from the cold weather. All except one, who were separated by a wall of mystery. Marinette Dupain-Cheng lay in her bedroom, looking up at the ceiling. With a sigh, she said to her kwami, "Oh Tikki! Christmas Eve and I didn't even get to see Adrien today!"
"Don't worry Marinette, I'm sure you'll see him tomorrow," Tikki replied, flying to Marinette's face and attempting a consoling hug.
"But Tikki, I needed to see him today! The one day I was going to finally tell him…" Marinette sighed and turned over on her side. Thinking that she'd never get another chance to tell Adrien her true feelings for him. "Face it, I'm going to be 'just a friend' forever…"
"Don't think that way, Marinette!" exclaimed Tikki, "I'm sure there will be other chances, you just have to be patient!"
"I don't want to be patient, Tikki! I wish I could tell him right now…" Marinette trailed off as she had a brilliant idea. "I know! I'll tell him as Ladybug! I'm much more confident then!"
"I don't think that's a good idea, Marinette," said Tikki. "He wouldn't know it were you if you told him while you were Ladybug!"
"No, this is perfect! I'm sure Adrien wouldn't reject Paris' number one superhero!" exclaimed Marinette, then, jumping from her bed she uttered the words, "Spots on!" and transformed into Ladybug.
…
In his room in the gloomy Agreste mansion, Adrien sat at his computer desk, looking at Alya's ladyblog for pictures of Ladybug. He sighed, turning to his kwami. "I wish I could have told her today, Plagg," he said disappointedly, "But every time I try something comes up! It's like we're not meant to be, maybe."
"Aw, cheer up Adrien! There'll be plenty of chances to confess your undying love to Ladybug," replied Plagg, "In the meantime, have some camembert?"
"Ugh, Plagg, you know I don't like that stuff. And besides, tonight is special. I wanted to confess to her on the moonlit snowy rooftops, then kiss…" Adrien trailed off as he saw a familiar figure standing outside his window. Ladybug! He ushered Plagg to hide, then rushed over to the window and opened it. "Ladybug?" he asked, "What are you doing here? It's the middle of the night!"
"Well, I… um…" Ladybug stuttered, but regained her composure. "Would you like to… hang out?" she asked unsurely.
"Hang out…? Of course I do!" Adrien responded enthusiastically. Ladybug smiled, and held out her hand. Adrien took it and together they swung up to the snowy Parisian rooftops. Together they talked and laughed the night away. Adrien noticed they had spent the whole night together, and the sun was rising.
Ladybug had noticed too, and asked, "Well… Would you like a better view?" Adrien nodded, and the two of them swung up to the Eiffel tower. There they sat, watching the beautiful sunrise.
"Ladybug, I have something to tell you."
"Adrien, I have something to tell you," they said at the same time. They laughed and both said, "You first!" in sync too. Laughing again, they tried but kept saying the same thing at the same time. "Okay, I'm just gonna say it!" they said, then blurted out, "I love you!"
Both teenagers were taken aback, and blushed. "Adrien… Really?" asked Ladybug, and the boy nodded. He couldn't believe his crush on Ladybug was returned. Adrien took her hands in his, and looked her in the eyes.
"Ladybug… I can't believe this." The sunrise was shining bright as the two shared a kiss, and with that, they both turned to the sunrise, watching in silence, both content that they got their Christmas wish.
