Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto. If I did, Orochimaru would be dead long before Sasuke got to him, and Sasuke would be my minion.

Sakura stared out at the village beneath her. She stood atop the Hokage's faces. The silent rain was disguising the equally silent tears that were cascading down her pale face. She reached up and pushed her soaked pink bangs out of her emerald eyes. The young kunoichi looked up at the darkened sky and whispered, "Why? Why did you do this to me?"

You see, this damp, dark day was the three year anniversary of Sakura's greatest loss. Three years ago, this day, Sasuke Uchiha had left her unconscious on a bench and left Konoha.

-Flashback-

"Sasuke-kun! If you leave, I swear I'll...I'll scream!" a younger Sakura Haruno cried out.

Tears poured out of her wide eyes as she stared at the retreating back of her one and only love. She gasped as Sasuke disappeared and reappeared behind her.

Sakura felt his onyx gaze on her as he quietly said, "Thank you," before knocking her out. The last thing she knew before slipping into a deep sleep was two strong arms catching her as she fell to the ground.

-End Flashback-

Sakura attempted to dry her face, but soon realized that her efforts were useless. The pick-haired kunoichi looked down on the streets as she sighed. What she saw made her gasp.

On a roof, a few houses away, stood the raven-haired shinobi that she was daydreaming about not moments ago. And he was staring right at her. Sakura rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't seeing things. Sadly, when she opened her eyes, he was gone.

She sighed again.

"Oh, Sasuke. If only you knew what you do to me. I miss you so much. And...I still love you," she said.

"Thank you," said a voice from behind her.

Those words.

That voice.

They cut through Sakura like a sword.

And...that...presence. How did she not notice it? Even after three years, the girl had not forgotten it.

Sakura whirled around, and when she did, bright emerald met dark onyx.

"Sa...Sasuke?" she stammered.

Sasuke nodded and continued to look at her. The faint ghost of a smile graced his features while and actual smile graced hers. But it was soon replaced by an angry frown.

Before he realized it, Sasuke was facing the left for Sakura had punched his right cheek.

"That was for leaving me on a cold bench."

She punched his left cheek.

"That was for betraying Konoha."

She grabbed his face and brought it to hers. She stared into his as as if contemplating what to do. Sasuke gulped and prepared for the worst. What he did not expect was for Sakura to crash her lips onto his. Just before he got over his shock and kissed her back, she pulled away.

"That was for coming back. Speaking of which, why are you back?" she said to him.

"To tell you I'm sorry...and to tell you that...I love you," he said before capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.

When they pulled away for air, Sakura looked up at him.

"What did you thank me for three years ago?"

"Everything."

"And just now?"

"Again, everything. Not giving up on me...still loving me despite what I did."

"Oh. Sasuke-kun?"

"Hm?"

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"Everything. Thank you."

–The End–

Wasn't that sweet? I was bored, couldn't sleep, and was feeling all romantic-y and stuff one night. That 'bright emerald met dark onyx' line, yeah, I love that line. Don't ask why. Well, review please? If you do, you'll get a cookie! Or a pie. Whichever I have at the time. Well, ja ne! Say goodbye my minion.
