Rick stood in the centre of the over-crowded arrivals lounge waiting. It had been over 6 months since he'd seen her. After she took her job with the FBI, she'd been allowed no visitors nor been able to leave. This would be their reunion, sort of. He heart pounded in his chest as the screen said her plane had arrived. He knew she had no luggage so she'd be there any minute. It'd been so hard adjusting to life without her. Gates had kept him around, but it wasn't the same without her. The doors slid open and people began coming out, he fought his way forward but he couldn't find her. He looked, and he looked.

"Just once, I'd like someone to come up to me and say something new." Richard moaned to his 15 year old daughter, Alexis.

"Mr. Castle?" Said a strong, feminine voice from behind him.

"Where would you like it?" He said, somewhat seductively. Holding a pen ready to sign.

"Detective Kate Beckett, NYPD. We need to ask you a few questions about a murder that took place earlier tonight." She stated.

"That's new." Said Alexis, laughing as she appeared behind him and took away his pen.

And then, he caught a glimpse of her long brown hair bouncing up and down as she searched for him. And then, she saw him and their eyes locked. She ran towards him and leaped up onto him, wrapping her arms around his broad shoulders. He held on ever so tightly as she did so. Breathing in her perfume, treasuring the moment.

"I missed you." He said.

"I missed you more." She said, laughing.

Short and sweet. Please review!
