"What could go wrong?" he asked, and Remus knew they were all in trouble now. He could list a dozen things that could go wrong with Sirius' plan. Remus knew his friends hadn't thought this through.
The four friends, known to the entire school as the Marauders, were slinking their way to the Potions laboratory to find the supply closet. They had planned, well James and Sirius had planned, to steal some ingredients to make a love potion and use it on the girls they were pining for at the moment. Remus knew that this was a bad idea, but he went along to try to keep them out of trouble.
They made it to the Potions classroom and silently opened the door and slipped inside. Once inside they ran to the supply closet and opened the door, hoping to get the ingredients quickly and get out. When the door was fully opened, a shrill shriek sounded above their heads, making them all cover their ears. Looking around, Sirius tried to find what was making the noise so that he could shut it up and they could get back to what they were doing.
Suddenly, the candles in the windows flared to life and they heard a sound that they all dreaded. "SILENCE! You stupid bird!" Professor Horace Slughorn, dressed in his nightdress, charged into the room.
Blinking quickly to clear his eyes and make sure he was seeing what was in front of him, "And just what do you boys think you are doing?"
"Told you this was a bad idea," Remus muttered to Sirius and began trying to come up with something to tell the professor to get them all out of trouble.
