Billy began to feel lightheaded and tried to stand up, but as he did, the cup spilt the bitter tasting tea onto the floor. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry."

"Don't worry dear, I'll just go and get a cloth", the landlady said softly.

As soon as she walked out of the sitting room, Billy made sure that she was out of sight. As he tried to walk out, his legs gave way and violently fell to the ground.

'Oh no, my legs. It must be the tea. They've become too numb to move. I've got to get out of here,' Billy frantically thought. He began to crawl into the hallway and look for the easiest way out.

'Now I recognize those names. Both are famous for the same thing, they went missing!' he thought to himself. He put his hands on the wall to try and steady himself as he stood back up. The door he now opened led to nothing but pitch black. Just before he walked out, he could hear the landlady's high heels clicking on the tile floor. His eyelids blinked as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. He ran out and tried to feel for something to hold onto.

Looking to his right, Billy saw a light shining and saw that he was in an alleyway. Putting his back against the wall, he could feel sweat running down his temple and an acidic feeling in his throat. As he held back the urge to vomit, he muttered under his breath, "That lady is insane. She killed those two sorry lads and I was next. She might be looking for me right now. I've got to hurry or it will be the end for me." Dragging one foot in front of the other with both legs feeling like wet cement, he concentrated on reaching the road, where he knew he would find safety.

As he stumbled to the curb, he could see The Bell and Dragon just up ahead. Filled with the urge to live, he licked the sweat on his upper lip, put his hand on the rough brick wall and began trying to run with all his might to the pub. Once he finally burst through the door, he felt himself falling into a dark oblivion.
