And in honor of my 21st birthday today, here in America that means I'm aloud to drink!...you know, legally ;) And in honor of this, of course I couldn't resist an ode to our favorite drunk, Haymitch Abernathy. Enjoy!
An ode to you, my drinking friends
With booze of white or copper trends
It was not the norm for Panem, no
A parting gift from President Snow.
Like crashing waves the nightmares come
But luckily I have the chance to be a drinking bum
Because I won that Hunger Game
My life will never be the same.
The people of Twelve, they don't understand
The horrors filled by my dreamland
I could care less, for my lovely friend
Flasky is all I need in the end.
It shuns the dreams of tributes gone
The nightmares of mutts and keeps me up til dawn
The sun, the sun, it burns my eyes
Maybe I cannot go back to the Capitol with a good disguise.
But what is in a drunken tale
But whiskey dreams and checking that I'm still male
Of visits to the Hob and screwing with fires
Maybe I'll even kill some sparkly vampires…
I swear one day when I was drunk as hell
I had a dream where I had something to sell
But it was not the same as Snow would give as a chore
I swear this guy's name was Dumbledore…
Oh look, a Mockingjay singing so bright
I think I've finally seen the light
This drinking habit of mine isn't good for my health
Maybe I should stop wasting my wealth…
Oh who am I kidding, I'm Haymitch Abernathy
YOLO!
