This is my first attempt at writing a fan fiction so I know it won't be a great master piece but hey u gotta start somewhere. I wrote this because I felt that the book High Lord was too concluded at the end and too happy. This is a re-writing of the last 2 chapters. Enjoy (or not as the case may be)...
-Take my power. Strike while he's distracted don't let everything we've done and suffered come to nothing
She nodded. As the strikes from the University lessened, she drew in a deep breath. This was not time for fancy tactics. Something direct, then. She closed her eyes and drew in all her power and all her anger at Kariko for what he had done to Akkarin and Imardin. She felt Akkarin send his strength to join hers.
Then she opened her eyes, she focused everything at Kariko and his allies. In doing so she dropped her shield to stop the drain on her powers.
The Ichani leader staggered backward. For a moment his shield held, then his mouth opened in a silent scream as a heatstrike burned through his body. She turned on the remaining two Ichani summoning the last trickle of power she had towards them. She was so preoccupied with what she was doing that she didn't sense the way ward heatstrike sent towards her, a last attempt from the Ichani to stop her. Sonea's strike ripped through both the Ichani before they could widen their eyes in shock.
At that moment Sonea felt a force hit her hard. It was hot, burning hot. She toppled over slowly falling into darkness on the way down....
Rothern rushed over to where Sonea and Akkarin lay facing each other with lifeless eyes. Touching them both on the temple he sent his consciousness through them. There was not of power left in either of them they had given it all to defend Imardin. They were both gone forever.
Sonea looked around her as she became accustomed to her surroundings. She was at the entrance to the University and Rotheren was kneeling in the dust above her. Standing up she could see a familiar face walking through the magicians surrounding her. It was Akkarin she walked over to him smiling. No words were needed; they just looked at each other grinning in silent happiness. Akkarin put his arm around her pulling her close as they surveyed the scene before them. Sonea looked up at him and said quietly "We won you know ... we won..."
"Yes, it seems we did" he chuckled.
The pair then took each other's hand and slowly weaved their way through the kingdom into the sunset....
