A Game With the Family

"No!"

The Doctor flipped his cards out of his hand. "You're cheating!"

Jack Harkness laughed. "No, you just don't know how to play! Uno!" He waved his final card in his hand.

Donna cringed. "Who in the bloody hell would make a game so stupid? You're just throwing cards with numbers down on a stack of other cards and calling Bingo!"

"Uno."

"Whatever!"

"You guys are just mad that I'm winning."

"Not for long…" Rose put down a draw four. "Uno! Oh, and draw four, Martha."

"Oh, you are not serious!" Martha drew her cards. "I have the most cards in my hands! How is that even possible?"

"Actually, I think you have half the deck in your hands," Jack chuckled.

"It's only 12 cards!" Martha exclaimed. "…oh."

Everyone laughed.

"Well, everyone knows I'm losing." Martha sighed. "What's the color?"

"Blue!" Rose laughed.

The Doctor smiled. "Brilliant choice!"

Another few hands went by.

"Draw two, Jack!" The Doctor said. "Hah!"

"That's not fair! Ever since Martha put down that reversal card, you've been hitting me with draw twos and skips all over the place!"

"Well, if Donna hadn't given me those draw fours, I wouldn't have these cards! Thank you, Miss Donna Noble." The Doctor gave a slight bow.

"Oh, shut up," Donna laughed. She placed down a six.

Martha gasped.

Everyone jumped. "What's wrong? Is it the baby?"

Martha laughed. "He just kicked, calm down."

"Ohhhhh."

"Do you really think you should be here?" Rose asked. "You could be in labour any day now!"

"Oh, don't worry about me, I'm not due for another few weeks."

"Still," Jack said. "I don't think the TARDIS wants a baby being born in the consol room."

"We have a small nursery," The Doctor offered.

"Oh, okay, no more talking about the baby! Besides," She placed a card down. "Skip Rose! Sorry, it was the only card I could play."

"Ah! I had a good card for Jack!"

"Oh, you do, Blondie?"

"Stop it," the Doctor warned.

"Aw, come on Doc, let me have my fun."

The TARDIS door opened.

"Mickey!"

"Hey, sorry I'm late, I kept going past the TARDIS, forgot where it was."

He gave his wife a kiss, and Rose smiled.

"See, Mickey? You did well for yourself!"

"And you think I wouldn't?" He joked.

Rose stuck her tongue out, and waited for her turn.

"Ahhh, it's great to have everyone here," The Doctor said. "If only Sarah Jane could have come."

Everyone agreed.

"Yeah, but she had to do something for her son, we'll see her next time."

Mickey sat down. "What are you guys playing?"

"A game called 'Uno!'. Jack introduced it to us," The Doctor put down a card. "Two more, and I win!"

Jack laughed. "Sorry Doc," he dropped his last card carelessly on the stack of over-flipped numbers. "I win!"
