'You promised me this would be a new start that you would always be around, I know better now' It was the last voicemail she would leave him it was different to all the others it wasn't furious screams or devastated pleas it was calm and accepting that was almost the scariest part, it was her resignation that she was finally broken, finally numb.

She was scoffed at the idea broken; she had been broken a long time before him an alcoholic mother, absent father and the responsibility of bringing her brother up. Yeah Eddie McKee had never been not broken. Well until he had come along slowly she began to feel different, have emotions she had never felt before and finally she felt as though she had control over her life.

She stared at the book he had left In his place, no note no explanation nothing just a book. It was weird she wouldn't chuck the book out she couldn't bring herself too as much as she hated him for hurting her this book was important to him it made him who he was and she would not get rid of it her last shred of him.

It had been 5 days since he left she hadn't heard a word from him and she wasn't the only one, Sasha and Chrissie were beginning to ask questions much to her annoyance it wasn't bad enough that every time she stepped foot on that ward she was reminded of him but she couldn't even amerce herself in work to get rid of the thoughts circling her mind.

The only thing that had helped to make these thoughts bearable was her old friend vodka, She realised she had once used him as a replacement for alcohol he once provided her with the same buzz as the liquid but now the tables were turned using alcohol to replace him.

She was also more angry with herself than she had been with him since did Eddie McKee let a man get that under her skin he reduced her to an alcoholic mess when he left, because that's ultimately what happened they left all off them. Not many dared stick around once they found the true Eddie.

Stumbling through her flat she laughed a giddy drunk laugh as she dropped the empty Vodka bottle making it smash on her wooden flooring, not noticing the blood that pooled around the broken bottle she stumbled on until she landed with a thud on her bed . Letting her thoughts melt into dreams she fell into a deep sleep.
