Bloody Mary
(A/N: This is a stupid little one shot that suddenly popped into my head at around 12:10 in the morning. It made me laugh, soI just had to write it down. I hope you like it!)
The frontier digidestineds' schools were out, and after some pleading with their parents, all were sent off to the same summer camp.
One night, after everyone else had gone to bed, the five guys sat around the campfire, telling ghost stories.
"... and then," J.P. whispered, "she heard a scraping sound on the roof of her car... scrape... scrape... scrape..."
Tommy shivered.
"And the sound suddenly stopped. The woman waited... and waited... terrified... and decided to see what it was..."
"No..." Tommy whispered.
"She got out of the car... and nobody was there... the road was deserted... and then she heard a sound... drip... drip... drip..."
Tommy whimpered.
"And she turned... slowly... and on the back of her car... was her boyfriend's severed head!"
Tommy moaned with fear.
"And to this day... they've never caught the man... and sometimes, if you listen really carefully, you can hear scraping at night on the road ... and in the woods... and in this camp..."
Takuya snorted, and Tommy screamed a little. "Come on, JP. You're scaring Tommy. Look at him!"
"I-I was not scared!" Tommy said, his voice quavering.
JP laughed. "Fine, Takuya." he grinned at Tommy. "Hey Tommy... ever heard of Bloody Mary?"
"O-of who?"
JP laughed. Takuya groaned. "Oh, c'mon, Takuya. If he's never heard it, he deserves to!"
Takuya sighed, but nodded.
"A woman named Bloody Mary was murdered around these pats a few years ago... it was all over the news... She was found with her head cut off... and it was screaming wordlessly at the mirror... and the clock was broken... and showed-"
JP looked at his watch. "Midnight. And they say... if you look into the mirror at midnight... and say her name three times... she'll appear to you... and you can hear her shriek..."
Tommy shivered.
JP grinned. "C'mon, Tommy! It's almost midnight! Let's go see!"
JP grabbed Tommy's wrist. Tommy shook his head.
"What's the matter, Tommy? Afraid?"
Tommy hesitated, then shook his head again.
"Good!" JP said.
Kouji got up to leave.
"Where'r you going?" JP asked.
"I'm going to bed. You can terrorize him by yourself."
Koichi got up and followed him. JP looked expectantly at Takuya.
Takuya sighed. "I might as well..."
JP checked his watch. "Jeez! It's almost midnight!"
The three boys hurried over to the bathrooms, and rushed inside the first door. Tommy stood in front of the mirror, with his two friends behind him. He looked nervously at the mirror. "Do I...?"
Both boys nodded.
"O-okay..." Tommy whispered. He swallowed, then said in a louder voice "Bloody Mary! Bloody Mary! Bloody Mary!"
Nothing happened. Tommy let out the breath he had been holding.
Takuya snorted. "See, Tommy? Horror stories are nev-"
A loud shriek pierced the night, and echoed around the room. The three boys looked at each other.
There was a loud bang, and a screaming face appeared in the mirror.
The three boys screamed, and ran out of the restroom as fast as they could.
The face in the mirror stopped screaming. It got larger in the mirror, and footsteps echoed. The faucet turned on.
Zoe washed her hands, and shut the water off. She looked out the door, where the screaming boys were in the process of waking the whole campsite up. She shook her head.
"Those idiots should check to make sure they're in the boys' bathroom next time..."
