Nightmares

"Sasori-kun?" I walked into the room, clutching my pillow. The bed squeaked as he turned to me.

"Deidara? What are you doing up at this hour?" My face flushed.

"I-I had a nightmare." I watched as he patted the space of bed beside him, pulling the cover back.

"Come and tell me about it." I walked to his bed, placed the pillow by his, and laid down beside him.

"T-thank you, Sasori-kun." His arm wrapped around my slender waist and pulled me against him.

"What was it about this time?" Shivers ran down my spine and tears welled up in my eyes. I gasped for air, unable to catch my breath. Sasori's hands went to my face. "Deidara?!" I stopped my breathing, closing my eyes and concentrating on calmness.

My next breath was calm.

"Deidara? Are yo-?"

"I'm fine." I took a deep breath. "I dreamt….of losing you…" Sasori's breath fanned across my neck as he chuckled.

"Tsk. Tsk. Deidara. You know I'll never leave you."

"I know….."

"See? Better already." He tilted my chin and pressed his lips against mine, rolling so he could hover over me.

I stared at my red head, who was limp in the two puppets' hold.

"S-sasori….?" My hand reached out for his hand, only to feel how cold he was. I followed the blades of the puppets' swords as they entered his body, his heart.

"….No." I fell to my knees, unable to stand on the wobbly limbs. Tears ran from my eyes and dripped onto the ground to mingle with his blood.

"S-sasori!! No!" I sobbed, fisting my hands into his cloak, which was discarded by his feet. I brought the cloak to my heart, clutching onto it as if by holding it, it would bring back it's owner. My head slumped forward before I screamed.

"You left me!!!" LI fell to the ground and curled into an agonized ball as the rain started. "You left me. You left me. Why? Why? I loved you. So why did you leave?"

And I wept.
