"Sherlock! What are you doing in there?" Mycroft asked looking crossly at her sister through the cell bars.
"Hello sister dear. These idiots were under the impression I was breaking into someone's home," Sherlock explained, bored, "Now could you please be so kind and get me out of here."
"I ought leave you in there." Mycroft huffed as she gestured to the guard to open the cell, "Luckily for you Joan had enough sense to ring me."
Sherlock stalked out of the cell without so much as a thank you. Mycroft loved her sister but she was such an ass sometimes.
"Sherlock!" Mycroft called after Sherlock who was already halfway up the hall, "Aren't you going to thank me?"
"Mycroft, you were an hour late. I had a one o'clock appointment with Lestrade at Scotland Yard. Why would I thank you?"
Mycroft sighed and followed after her.
Fourty-five minutes later later, the women are back at Baker Street. Sherlock, who had spoken to the mysterious Lestrade, saw no point in going to Scotland Yard. As it turned out the case they were supposed to discuss fell through. Mycroft didn't bother asking for details.
"Hello Sherlock," Joan said lightly as her partner walked in.
"Hello Joan." Sherlock replied, pecking her on the cheek. Mycroft pretended not to notice this. Naturally she was happy for Sherlock, but the sight painful. Mycroft hated being alone.
"Mycroft, would you care for some tea?" Joan asked her.
Mycroft hesitated, "No, thank you. I must get back to work." she said briskly. "Have a good evening."
"You as well," Joan replied as Mycroft descended the stairs.
'Tis a terrible thing to be alone.' Joan thought sadly as she watched Mycroft leave.
A/N: I don't own Sherlock.
