No Wonder

My name is Millicent Bulstrode. I am a seventh-year Slytherin. I know what you're all thinking. Junior Death Eater. Evil. You-Know-Who incarnate. Yes, believe me, I've heard it all before.
Well, I'm here to tell you otherwise. Ambition and slyness do not automatically mean you're evil. But some Hogwarts teachers seem to think so, mainly Professor Dumbledore. He doesn't seem to like us very much. The only one of us he seems to understand is our Head of House, Professor Snape. But the rest of us he can't seem to put up with.
Six years ago, at the leaving feast, proved that fact for us. He told us that we had won a victory of the House Cup, but then he turned it all around and presented it to Gryffindor, the Holy House of Good. Gryffindors can do no wrong in his eyes, especially the famous Harry Potter. I admit, what he, Weasley, Longbottom, and that Granger girl did was very brave, but couldn't he have given the points to them beforehand? No wonder almost all Slytherins become Death Eaters, because we're not accepted anywhere else! If the blessed Headmaster of Hogwarts can't even recognize the fact that we're not all evil, then what is this world coming to?
I was one of the Slytherins who fought on the side of light. Believe me, there were times when I wanted to join the Death Eaters because of the prejudices those holy Gryffindors have for us Slytherins, but my conscience disagreed. I don't hate them so much as to kill them. So I fought for the light, even though I can't stand most of them.
So that's my stance on Slytherins and my feelings about the house in general. We're not all evil little murderers who are going to kill all Muggle-borns and Muggles, thank you very much, Albus Dumbledore. Gryffindor could have their victory, but you could have given it to them in a manner that didn't make the Slytherins who support the Dark Lord support him even more!
