"AVADA KEDAVRA"yelled Lord Voldemort whilst he pointed his wand at the small crib in front of him. The green ball of light that came forth from Lord Voldemort's wand struck the infant's forehead and at the same moment Lord Voldemort felt like something impossibly sharp was tearing through him cutting a crack inside of him. After several moments of terrible pain his body burnt into a pile of black ash. Lord Voldemort's bodiless spirit stares at his cloak and wand that were laying on the ground for a small moment and then he lets out an unearthly screech, not noticing the small black mass that ripped itself off of him and then attached itself to the crying infant's forehead.
About 20 minutes later a loud vrooming noise comes from far above the house, and a motorcycle with a large man with a very messy beard riding it landed on the grassy grounds outside the building. This large man was named Rubeus Hagrid, and he was here to see if there was any survivors after the protections around the house were breached.
Hagrid walked through the place where the door had been and when he noticed the dead James Potter's body he sobbed loudly into a handkerchief that he pulled out of one of his many coat pockets. Hagrid walked across the room, and then into one of the side rooms and he had to avoid all the broken furniture that was strewn around the place. Hagrid walked down the hallway to the nursery where he knew young baby Harry had slept when he had visited, and he swung open the door, which was slowly moving back and forth, and he went into the next room.
Hagrid sobbed even louder into his handkerchief upon seeing the unmoving body of the young Lily Potter at the foot of the crib, with her bright red hair dispersed around her head that was laying on the ground, staring unblinkingly at the ceiling. Hagrid was most certainly shocked to see a pile of ash with a black cloak on top of it and a white wand that had fallen on the ground near the front of the crib. Hagrid rushed over to the side of the young baby that was crying softly and lifted him up into his arms, rocking him back and forth. "Bes' be gettin' yeh ter Dumbledore." Hagrid said in between sobs.
Hagrid was about to leave through the hole in the side of the house when he thought of something and reached down to where the ash and cloak were and grabbed the late Lord Voldemort's wand. Hagrid felt a warmth blaze through him upon picking it up, and then he put it in one of his many jacket pockets.
Lord Voldemort's wand had chosen a new owner.
