Obi-Wan heard a grunt of suppressed pain, and he glanced up from his datapad to look in front of him. There was Anakin, standing in front of him, battered bruised and torn up. They had recently returned from a mission and least to say that his apprentice didn't come out without a scratch. The healers had urged him to rest and try to recover, but of course, the fifthteen year old was too subborn to listen.
Now here he was, leaning against the wall as he tried to keep from collapsing, a hand gripping on his bandaged side as met Obi-Wan's stare.
"And what are you doing up?" Obi-Wan asked before returning his gaze to his datapad.
"I don't think laying around's going to get me anywhere." Anakin responded, and Obi-Wan looked up against with a raised eyebrow. "So I thought I'd walk around a little."
Now the older sighed, rubbing his temple to ease a headache from the light of the datapad still in his other hand. "You should be returnign to your quarters, pushing yourself like this will be worse than if you simply lay down."
"No. I know." The padawan responded. "But I still don't want to lay down."
This brought a small smile to Obi-Wan's lips before he wiped it away, so much like his own master. The smile had faded to a pained look for only a second. Qui-Gon was stubborn as well, and he had been reluctant to show that he was weak when he was. Anakin was behaving the same way.
"At least sit down, you're making me nervous."
So Anakin did, he sliped down on the couch beside Obi-Wan as he rested his chin in his palm and stared at the floor. Of course, he couldn't sit still and constantly fidgeted. After a while, it got on Obi-Wan's nerves.
"Is something biting you?" He finally asked, giving his apprentice a hard glance. "You're twitching more than usual."
"No. I'm not!"
"Yes. You are." Obi-Wan responded sternly.
"Okay so what if I am?"
"I can't consentrate on this if I have you fidgeting like this." He stated. "Maybe you should rest."
"No. I told you, I'm fine."
"No, you're not. No one can be okay after being flung through dirt and plants, then smashed against a rock at terminal vilocity." Then he smiled. "Unless you had full armor on you, that is."
"So? I got up." Anakin pointed out.
"And then you collapsed and I had to carry you back." Obi-Wan finished. "You aren't fine."
"But I lived."
"But you were still injuried, maybe next time you won't be so lucky. Now go back to your quarters and rest."
Anakin sighed and pulled himself back up before whincing as he put weight on his leg, which was wrapped up with a twisted ankle. He then leaned against the wall and left, leaving Obi-Wan alone again as he shuffled through files on the datapad.
"He's so much like Qui-Gon." He mumbled to himself.
