The Proposition
By Misha

Disclaimer- I don't own "Gilmore Girls" or anything associated it. T I wish I did, but I don't, they belong to people with way more money than me. I'm not making any money off of this story, so please don't sue me. Thanks!

Author's Notes- This is a missing scene for "Pulp Friction". It sort of explains why Robert ends up asking Rory out. This just sort of came to me, so I wrote it. I should add that I adore Finn and Colin (especially Finn), so it was probably inevitable that I wrote a story with them as main characters and there will probably be many more to come.

Summery- Finn and Colin have a proposition for Robert.

Spoilers- Up to "Pulp Friction".

Rating- PG

"Robert we have a proposition for you." Finn announced as he and Collin barged into Robert's dorm.

Robert eyed Finn warily. "What kind of proposition."

"The business kind." Collin told him. "How would you like $80?"

"What do I have to do for it?" Robert asked, never one to turn down money. At least, not unless it came with b too /b many strings.

"Just go on one little date." Collin told him.

Robert frowned. "Is she fat, ugly, stupid or boring?" He asked with a sigh.

He was going to agree, after all it wouldn't be the first time he had done such a task--someone's date often had a friend or a sister who needed to be fixed up, he just wanted to know what he was in for this time.

"None of the above." Finn assured him. "She's beautiful, slim, intelligent and interesting."

"Then why do you need to pay someone to go out with her?" Robert demanded. "What's the catch?"

Finn and Collin exchanged looks.

"The catch is that it's Rory Gilmore." Collin told him.

"Logan's Rory Gilmore?" Robert asked in disbelief.

"That would be the one." Collin confirmed. "Except, she's not, Logan's, that is. They have a 'no strings attached' relationship, par for the course with our Logan as you know."

"However, only an idiot actually believes that." Finn added. "Unfortunately, Logan is that idiot."

"And you want me to ask her out, why?" Robert asked, not getting it.

"Because, we want Logan to realize what the rest of us do." Collin answered. "That he is crazy about the girl. We figure that'll never happen unless he thinks he has competition.

"So you want me to be that competition?" Robert asked, wondering if it was worth it. After all, it was never a good idea to get on Logan Huntzberger's bad side.

"Yes." Finn answered.

"Why me?" Robert asked. "Why don't one of you ask her out?"

"Because then Finn would have to actually admit that he knows her and stop messing with her mind." Collin answered dryly. "Besides, Logan would never buy it. He knows that we'd never go after a girl he was currently involved with, so it has to be you."

Robert considered it for a moment and then grinned. "Why not?"

He saw nothing wrong with the proposition after all. He'd make a little cash, get the chance to go out with a beautiful young lady, and irritate Huntzberger all in one go. Sounded good to him.

Finn and Collin exchanged grins.

"Excellent." Collin told him. "Now this is going to make for a very interesting evening and I for one, plan on enjoying the show."
