Paper Hearts

He hadn't seen Demyx since that morning, and it was now afternoon. Usually the younger boy would be around him all day or at least near him, but today he hadn't seen him since they woke up and eat breakfast. Then Demyx said he had to do something and disappeared. Xigbar was beginning to worry now, therefore he was currently walking toward their room.

"What is that?" Xigbar asked as he entered the bedroom they just started to share last week. After a couple of months together as lovers, even though they didn't have hearts, Xemnas had finally let them share a room. Though they didn't have hearts, it didn't stop Demyx from telling him that he loves him. Or that whenever he was with Demyx he felt something inside his chest.

Demyx looked over his shoulders, a smile planted on his face. "A paper heart!" He said, lifted the big, white paper heart over his head and toward Xigbar.

A golden eye was locked on the heart. "Why?" He asked softly, a voice he only used around Demyx and Demyx only. He bent down in front of his mullet-lover and with a gentle touch took the heart that Demyx gave him.

The smile of Demyx's rosy lips widened as Xigbar took the heart. "Because you don't believe we have hearts." Xigbar just stared at him with is one eyes, then back at the heart, then him again and back at the white paper heart.

"But you do," was all Xigbar could say.

Demyx nodded, stood up and stood in front of Xigbar who also had straightened up. A golden eye still rested on the heart. "Yeah, I do. Since you don't believe it, I thought I wanted to make you a heart to give you, but I didn't know how to do it." He titled his head cutely to the side. His teal eyes now also resting on the paper heart. It was the first time he had made one. The edges was a bit scratchy. It wasn't a beautiful heart. "I figured I could make one out of paper, but that one is ugly. I want to make you a beautiful heart!"

He was about to grab the heart, but Xigbar moved it out of Demyx's reach, a smile spread out on his face.

Demyx pouted cutely. "Please Xigbar, let me-" He was interrupted by Xigbar's strong, scarred arms there wrapped themselves around Demyx's waist and hugged the smaller boy in a tightly embrace. "It's perfect, Kid." He whispered into Demyx's ear.

The warm, lovely breath and the thankful words made Demyx blush until the color of a red rose was on his face. He quickly hide his face in Xigbar's chest, wrapped his arms around Xigbar and felt embarrassed.

"Thank you."
