Seven Years Of Bad Luck
A Short Fic By CardCaptor Schlueter

Note From The Legal Dept.
We don't own the rights to CCS, big corporations do. But by writing
this goofy disclaimer we can rip off anything we want. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!

Author's Notes:
This is basically just a slightly mean spirited one-shot satire aimed
at the dubbed version of CCS known as "CardCaptors". Personally, I
kinda like the dubbed version but I think a lot of you purists out
there will appreciate this fic. I got the idea from Meg's "Shattered
Mirrors" (meaning I ripped it off) so I called my fic "Seven Years Of
Bad Luck" (get it?).

Sakura Kinamoto was once again faced with a weird dream. This
was not new. Sakura goes though weird dreams faster than Bill Clinton
goes through interns. (Yikes. That was mean. Gomen, Bill.) A strange
figure stood before her.
`For once' Sakura thought to herself `Why can't these weirdos
just show themselves.'
"Did you know that there many alternate timelines to cover
all posssibilities?" asked the figure.
"No, I didn't." replied Sakura "Are you going to explain it?"
"Well, duh." replied the figure "That's why I'm here."
"What if I had said `yes'." asked Sakura.
"Then you'd be lying." the figure responded
"How would you know?" inquired Sakura.
"If you knew you wouldn't need a weird dream to explain it to
you." replied the figure "Anyway, did you know that in a world
completely separate from this one your name isn't Kinamoto?"
"Obviously, I didn't. Haven't we already established that?"
"Oh, right."
"So, what is my name?"
"Sakura Avalon."
Sakura scratched her kawaii little head. "Avalon?"
"Yes. And you now live in a town called Reedington which looks
surprisingly like Tomeada but isn't." the figure continued it's speech
"You're friends names are Rita, Chelsea and Madison Taylor instead of
Rika, Chiharu and Tomoyo. Tomoyo, or Madison or whoever, sounds
completely different. She sounds like she grew up in L.A. She actually
uses phrases like `Whatever.' Come to think of it, you all sound
completely different. Touya is Tory and your father's name is Aiden.
Yukito's name is Julian for some reason and somehow you managed to use
the Watery card twice before you captured it."
"But that doesn't make sense." said Sakura.
"It's American. It's not supposed to. Try not to think about
it to much."
*****
The next morning, Sakura discussed the dream with Tomoyo.
"It was so weird, Tomoyo. It didn't make any sense at all and
Kero-Chan sounded like a New York cab driver for some reason."
Tomoyo shrugged. "Whatever." she replied.
