There she was, always at 10:30 every morning.

Pin-straight red hair, thick curves, soft red lips, rounded buttocks, and shapely breasts, all wrapped in a too-small white work-suit.

Alphonse tried not to stare.

This was an unexpected phenomenon: he lacked a body, but his mind went through puberty just the same.

The marketplace was starting to get busy, and the Elric brothers took the chance to catch a late breakfast outside.

"Brother," he whispered.

"Humm?" Ed looked up from his pastry and crumbs fell onto his lap.

"That lady over there keeps staring at you."

Edward leaned over to glance at the redhead. He looked back down and shoved a croissant in his mouth. "You're deluded."

"I'm serious! You're sitting next to a giant suit of armor and she's looking at you!"

"So?"

"So, why don't you go talk to her?"

Edward shrugged. "I'm not into tall women."

"Way to narrow your options."

"Shut up!"

"What about Winry?"

"We're just friends!" Ed scowled. "She's too tall anyway."

"Riiight."

The brothers continued to stare at the woman across the marketplace. She stole a glance at Edward before stopping at a wafer stand.

"Good God, and she had to wear heels today!" Ed gritted his teeth.

"You keep track of what she's wearing?"

"I just notice details, okay?" Ed's face turned red.

"You're not even going to give her a try? Just because she's tall?"

"Right! " Edward finished his croissant in one gulp.

They sat in silence for a moment, but Alphonse couldn't help pressing further.

"Are you scared that you would look small next to her?"

Ed scowled. "Why would I have to worry about that?" he challenged.

Al put his hands in the air. "I'm just saying."

"Just saying what?"

"Excuse me."

Both boys turned their heads. The tall redhead stood in front of them.

"Oh, hi." Ed's face turned an even deeper red.

"I was just noticing the design on the back of your jacket." She smiled. "What does it mean?"

Honestly, he didn't really know.

"I don't know, I just thought it looked neat," he said lamely.

"Oh." The girl smiled. "Sorry to bother you."

"Not at all," Ed scratched the back of his neck. "Hey, would you be interested in maybe catching some dinner with me some time tonight?"

The woman blinked for a moment. "Oh. I'm sorry."

"Huh?"

"I only date tall men."

"…Brother? Are you okay?"
