Clark ran so fast that the letter he was holding didn't even have time to hit the dusty, old wooden floorboards of the barn.
He was scanning the bridge and the water where the accident occurred long before the letter finished it's twirling, swishing dance in the sunlight to the wooden floor below. It landed underneath the red wool couch and rested in the shade there. It may have been forgotten but its words and meaning would never be.
He ran around the water, up the bridge, down the bridge, searched under and around the bridge and even x-rayed the bridge and super swam through the water. Nothing. He super-sped around the area, all the while listening for something, anything. No one was there. He was all alone. His first thought was that he was tricked.
Lois, Lois he started to yell desperately. He had no time to run around on a wild goose chase, trying to find her. She could be hurt. Or worse. He never should have left her.
Completely physically exhausted and utterly mentally exhausted, Clark collapsed to the side of the bridge railing. He fell down and sat against the bridge. It was then that he noticed that the rocks and gravel from the bridge cut his hands. He looked at them totally puzzled. How are my hands cut from these rocks?! There is no kryptonite anywhere.
His phone started to ring. It was Chloe. Just as soon as he was about to pick it up, he felt a searing hot pain in his chest. He put his hand there and felt warmth and liquid. It was then that he noticed that he was shot.
He spun around quickly only to reveal who shot him.
Hello Clark, Lex said while holding a kryptonite pistol.
Clark fell to his knees while looking at Lex. Where's Lois he whispered. He then passed out from all the blood loss and wasn't moving.
Lex casually picked up Clark's phone from the ground and answered. I'm sorry Chloe but Clark's a little busy right now.
Lex?! Chloe shouted shocked. Where is Clark? What have you done with him? Where's Lois?
Lex, looking annoyed just stares past Clark along the bridge as he throws Clark's phone into the water.
Chloe's still annoying, he thought. Now, let's have some fun.
