I went and saw The Lion King in 3D today. I wasn't wowed by the 3D but I went more for the big screen and nostalgia then the gimmick.

Anniversary

A dinner at a fancy restaurant was planned but it was cancelled due to alien invaders. By the time that was taken care of the only thing that as still open was the Legion kitchen. Brainy and Clark had sandwiches and a movie they feel asleep to.

They tried for a picnic but it was raining in both of their times. Clark showed Brainy the trap door to get into the center of the Daily Planet globe. They ate their picnic in there, trying not to laugh when Lois Lane came looking her reporting partner, going everywhere except the roof.

Rain happened again when they tried to plan a weekend camping trip and then they had to deal with the Legion of Super Villains on top of that. Once they were soaked to the bone and half the villains were back in jail, the other half in the hospital along side a few of their comrades, they took a long shower together and crawled into bed.

This happened at every attempt over the next two weeks. It had become a running gag among the Legion and the Justice League, not to mention at the Kent Farm.

"Pretty soon we're going to have an anniversary of trying to celebrate our anniversary," Clark joked as he mixed up some batter, trying to remember the recipe without calling his Ma twenty times like he usually does. Maybe he should start using those recipe cards Tinya got him for his "wifely duties"; at least they had farm designs around the border and a neutral red box if he were to keep them in the kitchen. Still, he just knew Bruce would make some sort of comment on them if he saw them.

"It hasn't been too bad," Querl smiled, helping out by chopping up the fruit. "How many married couples can say they get a month worth of dates for one anniversary?"

"A month worth of dates that went wrong," Clark definitely didn't pout; Superman does not pout.

"I don't know, I rather liked getting trapped beneath that bridge because of that rain storm and making a camp fire," Querl smiled fondly.

"It certainly has been raining a lot," Clark grumbled.

With a roll of his eyes Querl took the mixing bowl from Clark and took hold of his hands.

"Clark, you should know that things rarely go as planned. Before I met you I thought you'd send one day in the future and then go back to life as normal; eventually marrying Lois Lane."

It was at that last bit that Clark's eyebrow twitched.

"Are you trying to give me nightmares?"

Brainy rolled his eyes, "Do you understand what I'm trying to say?"

With a smile, Clark pulled Brainy close and wrapped his arms around him, resting his head on the shorter man's shoulder.

"Those things that don't go according to plan may have better result then the plan itself?"

"Basically," Querl massaged Clark's scalp, knowing how much the Kryptonian loved the feel of the Coluan's wedding ring against his scalp.
