Author's Note: Lexi and Joe are backkkk! Hope you enjoy it. This is a pretty long first chapter but I feel like I owe you guys. I will try to stick to the schedule of uploading for this story once a week and the same for my other new story "Quite Wright" - A Seth/OC story, which if you haven't checked out, please do. I would truly appreciate it.

Dad, I've been trying to reach you but you haven't answered your phone. I just wanted you to know that I'm leaving Connecticut for good. Not just Connecticut – but the WWE; everything. It is obvious that the people around you don't want me around and its obvious you choose them over me. At least, I can say that I tried to have a relationship with my father. It's just unfortunate that everyone else didn't want that. Well, I'm out of your life so, I hope you and your family are happy. Don't bother calling me back, I just wanted to say goodbye. I love you. Bye.

"What did you do?!" Hunter barged into his father-in-law's office, catching everyone present by surprise. Vince, however, looked calmed.

"Can you all excuse me please. I need a moment alone with my son-in-law." Vince dismissed the occupants in the room – who happened to be WWE producers. Hunter impatiently waited as everyone gathered their belongings and left.

"Have a seat." Vince suggested, calmly standing to his feet and walking towards the bar cart in his office. Hunter watched with gritted teeth as Vince poured himself a glass of a potent brown liquor.

"I rather stand."

Vince nodded. "Ok fine, suit yourself.' Vince took a quick swig from his glass of scotch. 'What brings you barging in here?"

"You know why."

"I'll hazard a guess, that this isn't about business?" Vince bluntly returned.

"No. It's not. Do you want to explain to me what you did to Rebecca?"

"Me?!' Vince innocently questioned. 'I didn't do anything to Rebecca."

"Vince, cut your bullshit. She called me; I know you did something."

Vince's face instantly screwed up. "Well did she say what I apparently did to her?"

"I know Rebecca is leaving on your behalf.' Hunter shot. 'You did something to her to make her want to walk away from me. All she wanted to do was be accepted and nobody around here has made it easy for her."

Hunter paused to catch his breath, more importantly, he stopped to give Vince a chance to explain himself. Much to Hunter's chagrin, Vince was smirking – that evil, slimy smirk of his.

"What did she say?" Vince asked.

"You listen for yourself." Hunter rummaged through his pockets, retrieving his phone. He found Rebecca's voicemail and replayed it back for Vince to hear.

I love you. Bye.

Hunter let out an agitated huff, putting his phone back into his pocket. "So, explain yourself."

Vince grew silent. He took his time answering, slowly sipping on his drink. "Listen Hunter.' He started. 'I get you are upset that your daughter is on the run again, but it has nothing to do with me. It has everything to do with her realizing that she wasn't meant to be here."

Hunter opened his mouth to protest, but Vince wasn't done yet. 'This whole issue between us and Rebecca, Rebecca and Reigns, Rebecca and everyone – is solely and completely your fault."

"My fault?" Hunter pressed a perplexed finger into his chest.

"Yes. Your fault.' Vince reiterated. 'Why didn't you come forward from the beginning and tell us about Rebecca? Huh? Don't you think that is something to tell your family. Then, you go against me – behind my back and you hire her. And then you put the livelihood and private relationships of your staff and our locker room in jeopardy. You put everyone lives in jeopardy. And now you want to pretend to be up in arms about the fact that Rebecca is a problem that you caused."

Hunter's comeback died in his throat. He expected that Vince would turn this around on him – but not read him for filth.

"And guess what I did.' Vince wasn't finished. 'As always, I cleaned up your mess – as I have been doing since you got here. Cleaning. Up. Your. Mess." Vince's eyes were stern.

All the air suddenly flew out of Hunter's lungs; Vince might as well has punched him in his stomach. Hunter knew this was his fault. His marriage falling apart, the destruction of other people's relationship, the tension in the locker room – everything. And like always, Vince trailed behind him to clean it up. Vince was a lot of things, but the one thing he knew how to do best is make a bad problem go away. Hearing this, straight from Vince's mouth, was concrete proof that this was all his fault.

"Now.' Vince continued. 'All I did, was clean your mess and as far as you and I go, this discussion about Rebecca is done. Your mess is cleaned up. You should be thanking me.' Vince snorted. 'Moving forward, the only time you should be barging into my office like this again, it better be about business. This Rebecca mess is done. Are we?"

Hunter was good at challenging Vince, but not this time. He had to tuck tail and walk away because Vince was right. It was now up to Hunter to do his part and move on. Still, Rebecca was his daughter and to know that she was out there in the world alone again, scared him. The reality that he had failed her, disappointed him. But like Vince said, Hunter created this mess.

All Hunter could muster up was a nod. He quickly excused himself and sprinted towards the closest exit. It was done. Just as fast as she had come; Rebecca was out of his life and things can go back to normal – at least he hoped so.

6 Months Later.

December 2015.

"Mommy, do you have to go?" A 7-year-old Amelia asked as she propped herself onto her parents' king size bed. Lexi smiled at her daughter, saddened by her pleading eyes.

"Yes, baby. I gotta go. But you have grandma and poppa here with you." Lexi hated this part. She now knew how Joe felt all those times he had to pack up and leave them. A lot has changed in their household in the last six months. Lexi, now worked for WWE as an in-ring physician, usually during the women matches. She had this job for the past four months after she got re-certified to practice medicine again. Having done a sports medicine fellowship while she was studying family medicine six years ago, Lexi was qualified for the job and she took the opportunity – making her the first female in-ring physician in WWE history. That meant more time in the arenas and locker rooms than ever before, more time spent with Joe on the road, yet, more time away from her babies and that was the hardest part. Especially with a seven-year-old & a seven-month-old baby boy. Even more discouraging was the fact that Joe and Lexi moved again – this time closer to Orlando so Lexi could work out of the Performance Center from time-to-time. Megan went back to New York where she was working as a school teacher again, meaning Lexi had little help around the house. So, Joe's parents sold their home in Pensacola and ended up moving in with Joe and Lexi to help out more with the kids. All of this in a matter of six months.

"Can I go with you?" Mellie asked in excitement. Lexi sighed playfully.

"Okay, if you can find a way to fit yourself in that suitcase,' Lexi pointed to the empty suitcase on the floor. 'Then yes you can come." Lexi laughed as she watched her daughter sprint off the bed and tried her hardest to fit into the 48x18 suitcase, which was an impossible feat considering Mellie was longer than the suitcase. It gave Lexi enough time to finish packing the remainder of her belongings on the bed and possibly make time for a quick diaper change for Joey, who was looking fussy while practicing his tummy time on the bed next to her.

"Joe, do you have all your shit ready?" Lexi scowled at the bottom of the stairs in their foyer. Joe Anoai, Lexi's husband, best friend, lover – WWE's current "It" guy, stalked down the stairs, dragging his suitcase behind him.

"Yes gorge, I have everything." He pouted.

"You sure?' Lexi had to double check. 'Passport. Wallet. Car keys. Wrestling gear – all of it."

Joe sniggered before placing a soft peck to his wife's lips. "Yes. I have everything, mom. Can we go now? Before we miss our flight."

Joe finally managed to get Lexi out the door after her hugs and kisses, constant reminders to her in-laws of all the things needed for the house within the next week, and a second round of double checking of their travel belongings. Now it was time for the couple to embark on the busiest time of the year for a WWE employee. They had a PPV and a two-week Holiday Tour to complete before getting to go home for Christmas.

Joe glanced down at his watch again. Seven minutes late. They were about to miss their cab and potentially their flight if she didn't hurry up. "Mother Teresa, can you please hurry up?"

Lexi emerged at the top of the stairs, jogging down swiftly before slipping past him and out the front door. Once in the back of the taxi, Joe smiled at her. To judge her obviously – but to admire her beauty.

"What?" Even after all these years, Joe still made butterflies in her stomach appear, especially when he stared at her this way.

"You're beautiful baby." Lexi gushed as she planted a kiss to Joe's cheek.

"I know."

Life seemed far too good.

Lexi had gotten used to the feeling of euphoria that went on backstage at a WWE show, especially a pay-per-view. As always, there was a fair amount of buzz backstage. Luckily for Lexi, she spent most of her time between the trainers' room and ringside. TLC: Table, Ladders, and Chairs was a weird pay-per-view for Lexi, especially since almost two years ago, at this very same pay-per-view, Lexi discovered that Roman Reigns was Joe. Probably the best and worst day of her life because she had to come to terms with her past. Like true Lexi fashion, it was always the one thing she ran from.

At least at this moment, Lexi wasn't feeling the sense of panic she felt that night. In fact, Lexi was calm, which was a feeling that wouldn't last long.

With a surprising slow night in the trainers' room, Lexi was heading out towards the ring for the WWE Divas championship match. She glanced down at her watch, noticing she only had five minutes to get across the arena and out to ringside.

"Lexi, there you are. I was on my way to the trainers room to come get you."

Lexi looked up to see the towering silhouette of Stephanie McMahon. Since joining the company, Lexi and Stephanie had gotten pretty close considering the drama that laced their marriages – all caused by the same woman. More importantly, Joe and Hunter eventually made up once Hunter sincerely apologized, which Lexi believed wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Stephanie.

"Hey, Steph. I'm on my way to ringside, do you need something?"

"Listen,' Stephanie started. 'We want you ringside for the main event."

Lexi's brows furrowed. The request wasn't too far-fetch – but odd. "Yeah sure."

"Are you aware of the finish for the main event?" Stephanie pried.

"Yeah. Joe is supposed to attack Hunter tonight after the match."

"Exactly.' Stephanie replied. 'We need all physicians ringside."

Stephanie began to join Lexi in stride. "However, if you don't mind, we have a special request of you."

"Like what?"

"So, Reigns is going to appear to have "snapped," while no one is able to calm him down – at least nobody ringside."

Stephanie's eyes twinkled. Lexi cocked her head, staring at Stephanie dubiously. As a mother of two small children, Lexi knew when someone had something up their sleeve.

"We are going to need your help, you know calming Reigns down out there."

Lexi snorted, much to Stephanie's surprise. "Joe is a big boy he can control himself."

"We figured since you are already out there, as his wife, you can step in and calm him down. You know?"

Lexi let out a weary sigh – she didn't have time for Stephanie's cryptic behavior.

"So you want me to be the one to calm Joe down and get him to the backstage area – as his wife?"

"Yes and no." Lexi rolled her eyes, arms folded along her chest. "We just don't want you to break character."

Stephanie then became besotted with her iPhone, much to Lexi's annoyance.

"Stephanie?"

"Hm." Stephanie looked up from her phone.

"What are you up to?"

"What?"

Lexi pursed her lips in annoyance. "Don't lie to me. Are you trying to drag me into Joe's storyline with Hunter?"

"Ok.' Stephanie conceded. 'Not necessarily, but my father wants to give it a try."

This was news to Lexi. "Give what a try?"

"He wants to see the crowd's reaction once they see his wife is the one in that moment to restore order and calm Reigns down."

Stephanie could see the leeriness in Lexi's hazel eyes. "I swear that's it." Stephanie said as she glanced down at Lexi's short stature.

"Does Joe know about this?"

"Sort of."

"Ya'll just full of surprises tonight, huh?' Lexi sarcastically returned. 'First, you don't tell Joe that his wife is going to be out there with him and then you come to me with your cryptic ideas and plans."

"To be fair.' Stephanie spoke. 'You are already technically out there."

"Not to calm Joe down in his fit of rage." Lexi countered.

The two women were now at the end of the hallway. Lexi glanced down at her Apple watch; 2 minutes left to get out there. As she reached for the door that led to another hallway, Stephanie spoke again.

"Just be natural.' Stephanie suggested. 'Just make sure to keep Reigns from beating Paul up any further and get him to the back. More importantly, don't break character."

Lexi let out a weary sigh. "Don't forget to tell Joe that." She said before retreating through the door and out to ringside. WWE had something planned, and for Lexi, that was never the greatest thing.

Lexi's nerves were rattled as she heard Joe's theme music play throughout the arena. Joe winked at her quickly before he climbed between the ring ropes. Good luck babe.

Early on, Joe put the boots to Sheamus. Lexi had to refrain from cheering as she sat behind the Spanish announcer table. Lexi sat quietly on the edge of her seat as she knew the match was coming to a end. When Joe and Sheamus fell backwards onto the steel ladder that was propped up between the ring apron and the announce table, Lexi could see the agony in Joe's face. Moments like this was the reason she didn't want to be ringside during one of his matches. It was too painful to watch.

"I don't know what else these two can go through.' Michael Cole mentioned. 'I wonder how they can make it back to their feet."

As the match continued, Chris Amann, WWE Senior Ringside Physician, placed a light hand on Lexi's shoulder. Lexi snapped to attention.

"Lexi, you okay?' Chris looked visibly concerned. 'You look like you need a paper bag."

Lexi swallowed hard, hoping her nerves will go down with her saliva. She rubbed a hand over her forehead, still nervous.

"His matches; they stress me out." She admitted.

"Just relax. It will be over soon." Chris suggested before passing Lexi a cool bottle of water.

The end of the match was near as Lexi watched in anticipation as Joe is trying to climb up the ladder while Rusev and Alberto Del Rio disrupt the match and began to grab at his legs, pulling him back down. Then they started to maul him viciously. The crowd started booing instantly.

Lexi stood to her feet as Sheamus climbed to the top, retrieving the championship as Joe flew back down to the mat. He looked exhausted, frustrated, and mostly, angry. Joe got to his feet, just in time to spear all three of the men – taking everyone out.

"WAIT A MINUTE – SPEAR!.' Michael Cole noted; the arena erupted into cheers. 'TOMBLING THE CHAMPION! A SPEAR BY REIGNS!"

Joe grew dangerously quiet. The look on his face made Lexi eerily nervous as it brought back flashbacks. Lexi knew that look. Those nostrils of his was flared, a singular eyebrow, piqued.

"What kind of look do you expect? What kinda look do you expect when he just got screwed!" Jerry 'The King' Lawler observed.

Reigns grabbed a steel chair and cracked all three men over the backs repeatedly. He hit Sheamus with a few body shots. He continued his assault until Triple H, Stephanie, and WWE referees ran down to ringside. Everyone is shouting at Reigns to calm down, but nothing is working.

"PUT THE CHAIR DOWN!" Lexi could hear Stephanie screeching loudly from across the ring. Lexi watched quietly as Chris Amann and the other ringside physician, Chris Robinson, rush to the ring as Sheamus, Del Rio, and Rusev rolled out of the ring. Joe remained deadly quiet as he stalked the ring – almost like an untamed pit bull guarded his yard.

Everyone tried to get Joe to calm down to not much avail. Joe glared at Hunter, who carefully entered the ring.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Hunter spat at Joe, but Joe still stood there with chair in hand. Hunter made the mistake of turning his back on Joe, only for him to spearman punch Hunter right in the middle of the ring.

"OHHHHH! NOOOO. NOOOO!" Michael Cole shouted from the announce table as the crowd erupted into cheers.

"That's the boss!"

"Oh Roman, this is going to cost you big!"

"Oh my god, Roman Reigns have completely lost it!"

Despite what was being said, Joe continued cracking into the ribs and back of Triple H. Joe got in one final shot over the body of Hunter. Hunter managed to roll out the ring as WWE refs tell Reigns to back up.

Lexi moved from around the announce table as she knows what's coming next. She still manages to stay out of sight of the television cameras.

"STOPPPP! NOOOOO!" Stephanie is screaming, Lexi had to hold her ears. Stephanie stalks towards Joe shouting at him to stop, but she knew better and managed to keep some distance between her and the untamed man in front of her.

"That look in Romans eyes, he doesn't even have a career anymore."

Stephanie looked over in Lexi's direction and she knew the time was coming. She made sure to stay out the way as surprisingly, Joe never looked in her direction.

Reigns got up on the other announce table, jumped off and dropped an elbow over Triple H, crashing through the Spanish announce table. Cole mentions that he overheard Roman say that he knows he will be fired. Stephanie kneels down to attend to Hunter with medical staff while WWE refs attempt to get Joe to go to the back.

A 'THANK YOU ROMAN' chant breaks out in the arena. Joe stands on the other side of the ring, nodding, pleased with what he's done. But he wasn't finished. The minute they got Hunter to his feet and heading to the back, Joe takes off running and levels Hunter with a final spear. Stephanie starts screaming and shouting at Joe; telling him that he was going to pay for this, while WWE refs try to get control of Joe and get him out of there. Refs are still unsuccessful.

"Nobody is safe now.' Michael Cole announced. 'If Roman Reigns can attack the COO of this company like that, then nobody is safe."

Finally, Lexi appeared from behind the announcer table and walks slowly towards Joe, pleading with him to relax. She grabbed his bicep and pulled him away from the scene. Her back still facing the camera.

"Wait a minute John – wait a minute!' Michael Cole pauses. 'That's Roman Reigns' wife. John, Reigns wife is here!"

Joe's scowl softened at the sight of his petite wife, most importantly, confusion replaced his anger.

"Calm down Roman. Just relax. It wasn't worth it." Lexi pleaded, finally getting close enough to Joe to lightly push him to the back. He squeezed his wife's cheeks, still with confusion on his face. The smell of his wife's signature scent of lavender brought Joe out his trance and back to reality.

The cameraman got a quick shot of him saying sorry as he walked backwards up the ramp.

"Look at this John. Roman's wife is here!"

"She seems to be the only one who has been able to calm him down." Jerry Lawler noted.

"It's about time someone came out here and control this madman! He just assaulted the COO of this company!" JBL shouted.

It was obvious that the WWE Universe was confused, but they managed to still cheer due to Joe's previous actions.

Joe glared down at his wife; a vengeful grin crossed his broad lips. He took one last look at Hunter laid out on the ground as Lexi looked over her shoulder, the cameraman catching a glimpse of her perturbed face.

Fans roared. Joe grinned. Lexi gulped. "Tell him to challenge me." Joe proclaimed calmly into the camera.

Lexi and Joe held their gaze for a few more seconds. Lexi let Joe's sweaty body go and turned around, giving the fans a clear view of her. Joe lifted his arms above his head in his signature pose and Lexi tried not to look so awkward. She was practically shaking as TLC went off the air.

Lexi wasn't sure what all of this meant and frankly, neither did Joe. But what they did know was that all hell had broken loose.
