There he was, seventeen years old. A mischevious grin spread across his cheeks as he hid in a tree over the spring close to Ordon. He waited there for close to 3 hours. Waited....for the perfect moment. Uli came in to get some water for the evening meal; however, Uli was of no interest. He knew today was the day Ilia would be doing laundry. She was a sweet and innocent until one did something childish and troublesome, then it was an earfull of scolding for hours and sometimes days. He knew he would get a nice hollering at for the stunt he was planning, but it would be worth it. He got a slingshot with some rupees he got from working at the ranch. It was his first form of income and he wanted something he could enjoy. He sat perfectly still in the tree on a strong branch and waited with his slingshot and pumpkin seeds. He caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye. His adrenaline began to rush as he saw Ilia with a basket of dirty laundry to be washed in the spring. His blue Hylian eyes focused on her every move like a wolf watching his next meal. She set the basket down and bent gently to pull out the first shirt that needed cleaning rather badly. This was his moment, now or never. He loaded the slingshot with the pumpkin seed and took aim quickly with his left eye. He let it fly.

Birds scattered from the trees as a shrill, blood curddling scream came from the spring as Ilia felt a sharp pain on her back end. The boy lost balance and fell out of the tree, landing with a thud on the ground....he was discovered. Ilia clutched her behind at the location the pumpkin seed hit and Link clutched his head from the fall. He was in big trouble now. He stood up and looked at her. She was beautiful despite the horns sprouting from her temples, bright red eyes and the fire she was breathing as her right eye twitched. All that was left was his ace in the hole. His smile. It was rather handy, got him out of trouble so many times with Ilia, but not this time, his charming attempt was in vain indeed.

Pergie and Rusl were talking of weather and the pumpkin crop when all hell broke loose. Ilia's scolding could be heard all the way in the desert, and it was getting closer.
Rusl chuckled when he caught sight of Ilia dragging Link back into town by his right earring, protesting the whole way.

"I hope that boy never grows up, he is always good for entertainment." Pergie said to Rusl as he grinned.

"Maybe one day he will learn that Ilia is the wrong person to play such pranks with." Rusl commented.

"You knew this would happen?" Pergie inquired.

"Who do you think gave him the idea?" Rusl grinned.
