Words decorated her wrist in a way that she'd never forget the way they had been spoken or just how much they had come to mean to her, and often she'd found herself tracing them over and over again though his hands always traced the thin lines much better. His hands were as steady and strong as she'd always felt she needed since she moved so far away from home for the first time.
His words were slanted, but absolutely beautiful. Tom didn't trace them often, not for lack of wanting to, but in the quiet as he traced them over and over again sometimes, he was reminded of just how beautifully bashful she'd looked at his compliment, how she responded with those words on his wrist without having to read them, and his heart had soared that day. Tom had met the most beautiful woman in the world, one who traveled mile after mile after mile to get to France, and who had his words scrawled on her wrist. That first day felt like a dazed one to look back on with those words standing out in his head, but the overwhelming excitement later on made it hard to remember every single detail of that day, no matter how hard he tried to trace the old lines of that day, knowing how it started out like any other and knowing just how stunned he'd actually been by Sabine.
Sabine's beautiful in a way that never has to be forced, that never can be forced, and Tom loves how her quiet beauty shifts into all that she is, because she isn't just the girl that he met that day and fell head over heels in love with. She's also strong when she feels the need to be, loving even more often than he can count, and playful. Sabine's everything to him, and he isn't sure all of that goes back to that day when he met her for the first time and realized that he'd met his soulmate. A lot of it had to do with love, with growing together, with just being there through the good, the bad, and the ugly, even the days when it was harder to remember what made them fall so in love with each other.
Tom loves her beyond whatever he'd expected when he used to dream about what his soulmate would be like, and he's positive that she's more than any dream could have provided him. Sabine is everything that he'd ever wanted, but would never have been aware of to ask for. It even still charms him when she switches to Chinese sometimes, and some of the accent remains when her words finally come back to French; he just loves her, and that little accent when it appears is absolutely adorable. Tom Dupain couldn't be happier than he is now, having spent the day baking in their bakery, and just being around his wife, his soulmate, his everything.
Sabine keeps him going when life threatens to toss him out to sea, and she keeps his hands steady when they tremble. She knows him in a way that few could even begin to imagine, and he returns that love, that attention, that knowledge back to her. Every moment together just lets them know each other better, and sometimes those were in only the little ways that most people wouldn't count up or reimagine, like the way that Tom kneads dough or just how long he kneads it for, and sometimes it becomes concise as if he were counting the time, even when he isn't. They learn the little things about each other, but so much more.
Sabine had been his support through his darkest times and his darkest moments, and he's still so very grateful for that and could never stop being this grateful. He'd been her support through her worst moments too, through the times when the rain wouldn't stop falling, and neither knew how to swim to the surface. Love is strong for them, and every day seems to strengthen it and bring them closer. Tom and Sabine couldn't be more in love or happier though some days surprised them with how much more in love and much happier they seemed to be. Love became so much more than the marks on their wrists though whenever the reread those first words to each other or traced them out again and again, the moment touched their hearts and always evoked fond feelings. They had fallen more in love with each other as the years went by, but those first moments were still in the treasure trove of beautiful, incredible moments of their lifetimes.
