"-to the super-duper, so heart-pounding, awesome, stellar and astounding vision that the world has never seen!" the ad on Lena's laptop played and everyone in the vicinity, watching, could only stare.

"Oh my God. Is that... Kara?" James was the first to speak, sounding like every word he spoke took a massive amount of effort to formulate.

"Where the specular maps amaze you, and the danger doesn't faze you, in this land where dream is rule and you're the queen!" the ad continued.

"I... think... so?" Winn sounded just as confused, eyes and mouth wide as he stared at the girl in the ad, still dancing merrily along her way.

"A llama chorus starts to form, and soon they're dancing up a storm!" the onscreen Kara continued to sing as very blocky llamas suddenly popped up right out of the ground and created a chorus line behind her. Her own dance moves were rather... strange. To say the least.

"Uh-huh!" a square-Squidward-esque creature popped his head up from the corner of the screen and agreed with Kara.

"You said it!" Kara pointed at him. "What else could be in stooooore?!" she continued to belt.

While Winn and James looked like they were fighting hard to either not laugh or not puke, Lena was in total shock, silent. She could only sit there and stare at the screen, unblinking, face unreadable, and mouth covered by her hands. Was that really Kara Danvers? Her Kara Danvers?

"You feel the wind as it whips on by, caused by the chickens who fly so hiiiiiigh!" Kara continued to sing. Lena could still only stare. Yeah. This was her Kara. Painful as it was to admit it, this dancing lunatic was the very same one she called a girlfriend.

How on earth had Lena fallen for such a complete and utter dork? But even as she asked herself this, Lena felt a tiny smile tug at the corner of her lips. Kara looked like she was having so much fun! Her eyes were bright, her smile was big, and her voice was, well, super-duper! And in the same moment that Lena asked herself how she might've fallen for crazy little Kara Danvers, the answer presented itself to her. Kara was just too peppy to not love! Even if this ad was a bit... odd.

"Well. She looks like she's having fun," Eve observed, unsure of what else to make of this strange ad unfolding before them on screen.

"Please tell me she at least made good money off of this gig," Winn muttered, sounding like the second-hand embarrassment was going to kill him.

"And you land right back where you started! But everything feels new!" Kara continued, and suddenly, a whole cast of Minecraft characters started to assemble behind her, each of them doing the same dance moves she was doing. "In this super-duper, realistic, existential, fabulous, mystical and magical, dramatic, never tragical, world that waits... for YOOOUUU!" then the music cut to a sudden end and Kara was alone on a stage, the words "SUPER DUPER" glowing behind her. Her arms were extended out and her chest was heaving.

"What the heck did we just watch?" James asked as the ad ended.

"I have no idea," Eve replied, and Winn could only shrug. Lena still hadn't said a thing.

Later that night, Lena and Kara reunited. Kara had been away from the desk that day, out in the field and doing interviews. But once the day came to a close, the two met up outside of CatCo, having planned on going out to dinner that night.

"Lena!" Kara smiled cheerfully as she raced over to her girlfriend.

"Kara," Lena's smile was strained and strange. Even in the darkness, Kara could see it, and her running slowed to a walk.

"Lena? What's wrong?" Kara was alert at once, happiness switching immediately over into concern and protectiveness.

"Oh, nothing's wrong, per se," Lena replied airily, but all Kara had to do was raise an eyebrow. "Ok, fine, I'll tell you, but it's still nothing bad! It's just something... weird..." then Lena gestured for her and Kara to both head back inside. Kara was confused, but she obliged, following Lena back into CatCo's building. They stopped in the main lobby and Lena pulled out her laptop. After loading up YouTube, she turned the screen to Kara.

"Care to explain what this is?" she asked, and then she clicked on a video titled "The Super-Duper Minecraft Musical."

"Oh... That..." suddenly, it was Kara's turn to give the awkward, sheepish grin.

The next day looked very much the same as yesterday, the CatCo crew all crowded around Lena's computer, only this time, Kara and Alex were present as well, all of them having turned that section of the day into a "Kara Minecraft viewing party".

"You mean you got drunk and your first idea was not to do anything dangerous, or to hook up with some stranger, but it was to film a Minecraft ad?" all the laughter James and Winn had tried to contain yesterday came spilling out today as the ad ended again.

"Don't judge me!" Kara whined pleadingly, but Winn and James were laughing too loudly to hear her.

"I told you it was a dumb idea," Alex smirked.

"No you didn't!" Kara argued. "You were the one who gave me the idea in the first place!"

"What? No I didn't!" Alex cried quickly, but four pairs of curious eyes were now turned on her. "I didn't! I swear!" she continued to insist.

"She's the one who filmed it!" Kara continued to accuse. "She had the camera and she was the one who said I should sing a song for Minecraft!"

"But only because your obsession with the game is boarding her on an addiction!" Alex defended.

"It's a good game!" Kara cried.

"Wait. Did you only just find out about it recently?" Winn interrupted in surprise.

"Well, I found it about a month ago and have been playing it ever since. Alex and I only got drunk a couple weeks ago and that was the night we filmed that little ad as a joke," Kara explained.

"And how did it end up on YouTube as a legitimate ad?" Lena finally added her voice into the conversation, giving Kara a look.

"Uhhhh, I may or may not have had Supergirl contact the Minecraft CEO and put in a good word for me?" Kara asked sheepishly.

"Seriously, Kara?" everyone else in the room asked.

"What?" Kara continued to ask innocently. "They were already calling it the 'Super-Duper' graphics pack, so why not?"

"Did this happen on another night you were drunk?" Lena asked, raising an amused and disbelieving eyebrow.

"Oh no, I was totally sober when they contacted me and said they wanted to make my ad real," Kara replied cheerfully. Everyone else made an assorted group of noises ranging from disbelief to outright amusement.

"Why am I not surprised?" Alex sighed, but before Kara could offer up a retort, Winn interrupted again.

"I honestly just can't believe you'd never heard about Minecraft sooner! I feel like it reached peak popularity several years ago!" he said.

"It did?!" Kara's jaw dropped, then she all but shoved Lena out of her seat to sit down at Lena's computer. Lena looked surprised, but she was so amused by Kara's passion for the game that she willingly stepped aside as Kara's fingers began flying across the keyboard even before she was sitting down in the chair. She found the dates for Minecraft and realized Winn was right.

"Oh man! And to think I missed all of this!" she pretended to despair, but it didn't take anyone any longer than that to realize what she was really doing. She not-so-subtly went from the Minecraft wiki page to the login page and suddenly, her game was loading.

"Kara!" Alex was the one to try and reel Kara back in.

"What?" Kara asked innocently, again. "It's a good game!" and Alex only sighed in dismay as Kara turned back to the screen.

"Wait, wait, wait a second, move!" Winn giggled, then he shoved Kara aside just as quickly as Kara had shoved Lena aside.

"What are you doing?" Kara demanded, shoving him back over.

"Just checking something!" he insisted, shoving her back again, then he pulled up the settings and- "HA! I knew it! You have a Supergirl skin!" and sure enough, on the settings page was a rotating display of Kara's avatar, dressed up in a Supergirl costume.

"Really, Kara?" Lena snorted.

"It's nothing!" Kara insisted, quickly returning to the main game and trying to hide her avatar from Lena. Behind them, James was snickering.

"It's nothing!" Kara repeated. "Now just give me like 10 minutes, I was really close to finding more diamonds the last time I was on. I just want to see if they're where I think they are..." then, without even meaning to, the whole rest of that afternoon became something of a YouTube let's-play livestream, with Kara as the gamer and the CatCo crew as her audience. Her commentary was little more than her extoling the beauty of Minecraft.

"-downloaded a new mod, but it didn't really fix the issue," Kara was still talking about an hour later, having barely even paused to breathe in any of the other proceeding 59 minutes of her playthrough. "But I still think they should've made Herobrine a bigger character, like, made him his own unique entity the way they did with the Ender Dragon," Kara was talking a million miles an hour and only Winn and Even seemed to have the slightest clue what she was talking about. Alex and James, though both Minecrafters as well, weren't nearly as diehard as Kara was, and Lena had actually never played the game before herself, so all she could do was stare at Kara as Kara walked them all through the game (not that staring at Kara wasn't something Lena already did all the time, and enjoyed doing as much as she could).

"-and then they added in pandas and cats, instead of just ocelots, because for the longest time, all they had were ocelots!" Kara continued. "But then Notch-OH NO! DANG IT!" Kara's anguished cry echoed across CatCo. Her screen was tinted red and the words, "You Died" appeared on the screen. "It must've been a Creeper! And I didn't even hear it coming!" Kara continued to despair. Beside her, Winn looked equally devastated and Eve was cringing sympathetically.

"I remember one time a Creeper killed me while I was in the middle of building a castle, and it wiped out a good portion of that castle and I wasn't able to make it back in time before all my items disappeared. It was one of the saddest moments in the game," she sighed as Kara's own avatar popped back up at her spawn point. Meanwhile, Alex was rolling her eyes, James was laughing at Kara and Lena was only giving her a mildly concerned look as she noticed Kara's brow crinkling in genuine distress.

But it didn't take long for Kara to get right back on track with her game.

"-discovered it because I was looking up memes and I found several Minecraft ones and I thought the game was going to be really funny. I mean, it is! I love the YouTube commentators like Tobuscus and SkyDoesMinecraft and Captain Sparklez, but the game itself didn't have much humor, but that's totally cool because the rest was just so attractive and fascinating! I've been on this thing for weeks now!" Kara grinned.

"You don't say?" Alex snorted. Kara shot her a look.

"Anyway," she continued, while Alex snickered. "I definitely want to see if I can go to a MineCon and I already know I need to give Minecraft Story Mode a spin, along with downloading some of the other preexisting maps there are out there, but I was just going to start with the original game and maybe add some mods here and there, then we'll get into all the rest. But I'm already looking forward to-"

And Kara went on and on and on. Somehow, none of her audience got bored enough to leave, instead, they only watched in amusement as their plucky little friend continued to fan-girl over the Minecraft community. It was clear that even though this was a rather recent find for her, she was already coming along quite nicely within the fandom just because of how infatuated she was by it all.

At last, however, the day came to a close and everyone went their separate ways, Kara finally and reluctantly logging off of her game.

"Come on, Kara, you and I both know you're going to be back on the server the moment you get home," Alex snorted as Kara pretended like logging off was the equivalent of being threatened with Kryptonite.

"That may be true, but parting is such sweet sorrow!" the blond sighed. "Besides, I'm not going home just yet," then she flicked her head in Lena's direction and Alex understood at once.

"Promise me you'll try to engage her in conversation outside of Minecraft?" Alex asked, but she didn't wait for a reply before escorting herself out.

Kara mostly made good on that unanswered request of Alex's, spending most of her time with Lena talking about life in general, and all of its ups, downs and adventures, but even Kara could not stay strong forever.

"So you've never played Minecraft before?" Kara finally asked as they finished up dinner.

"Never," Lena replied.

"Well then we need to set up a future date where I can show you!" Kara pleaded.

"Didn't today do that already?" Lena asked, amused.

"Pwease?" Kara whimpered, giving Lena the puppy-eyes.

"Not fair at all!" Lena cried, but Kara only continued to pout adorably, then Lena caved.

"Hooray!" Kara grinned as Lena finally agreed to a more videogame-oriented date.

"Dork," Lena replied, but Kara only shrugged happily.

"Maybe after I show you the ropes, we can make a server together," she suggested, then she gave Lena a more meaningful look. "Or maybe you could just talk to the Mojang CEO yourself and maybe make an acquisition?" she asked.

"Are you seriously asking me to buy Minecraft for you?" Lena snorted, crossing her arms in amusement.

"Maybe?" Kara gave an adorably innocent smile and Lena only laughed and shook her head knowingly.

A couple weeks later, a tweet from Notch shocked the videogaming world when he announced that Mojang and L-Corp were officially entering a merger. Some of the company would still be owned by Notch, but a large chunk of it would now also be owned by L-Corp. When Alex read the tweet, she shot a glare at her younger sister, who was blissfully playing upon her much-improved Minecraft game.

"Did Lena buy you another company?" Alex demanded.

"I didn't ask her to!" Kara replied vaguely.

"But she bought you another company, didn't she?" Alex repeated, though this time, she wasn't looking for an answer. Instead, she only rolled her eyes in disbelief before looking back to her phone.

Meanwhile, Kara's eyes were glued to her laptop, and the one other avatar in her newly-made world of MineCorp. She smiled at it. It was Lena's. Together, they were building a revamped version of the L-Corp tower. Wasn't this game absolutely super-duper?!

AN: This is for AO3s International Fanwork Day of 2019 and is inspired off of the Melissa Benoist Minecraft Musical ad. I've always wondered what Supergirl's friends might've thought when they saw that ad, and now I finally got around to writing a possible reaction fic. Hope you guys liked it and didn't think it was too odd! Thx for reading (and maybe reviewing?)!
