Snape sat quietly reading in his dimly lit, square, small reading room which was filled with books from floor to ceiling.
Ding dong
Rang his door bell. Snape looked up from his book and sat there quietly staring at the door, and then the door bell rang again. Snape stood and made his way to the door, when he opened it he saw Remus Lupin.
"Remus." He dully stated. "What are you doing here?" he questioned the tired, and rugged Lupin.
"I just came from a home that was destroyed by Voldomort." Said Lupin.
"Another one?" asked Snape.
"Yes."
"Any survivors?"
"Actually there is one." Said Lupin then he added, "And she says that she knows you." From behind Lupin a young girl's head peeked put and looked up at Snape. She had short black hair and large grey blue eyes that looked glassy. Snape guessed that she must have been crying because her eyes where blood shoot and her face blotchy.
"Sevy!" she called. She run up to Snape and hugged him around his legs.
"Nekoi?" Snape said looking down at the young girl known as Nekoi. Snape looked up at Lupin then asked him. "What happened?" Lupin gave Snape a look that told him exactly what happened. Both of her parents had died which only meant one thing. Severus Snape was the only person left for the young girl. Snape was officially Nekoi's godfather.
Snape walked up the stairs to the room where he placed Nekoi. Her light was still on so he knocked on the door.
"Come in." Came her small voice. Snape opened the door and walk in.
"Are you comfortable?" Snape asked the small girl looking up at him. She answered with a large nod and added. "Of course I am, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else but since..." her voice trailed off.
"Well them goodnight." Snape said and was about to leave the room.
"Wait!" called Nekoi. Snape stopped and turned to look at her. "Don't I get a hug?" Nekoi asked with a disappointed expression on her face. Snape wasn't sure what to do. He had never given nor been given a hug before. Nekoi got out of her bed and walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his legs.
"Good night." She said. Then turned and walked back to her bed. "Oh, Inuki wants a hug too." She said. Snape looked at the girl a little confused although he did not show it but somehow she must have read his mind.
"Inuki is my dog," she said looking at Snape. "He won't be any trouble you don't have to feed him or anything. Don't worry about that you can't see him grandma told me that only I can see him and that he will share my life with me, but I don't really know what that means." She said thoughtfully. "Good night Sevy. I love you." With that she rolled over and went to sleep.
Snape left the room and closed the door behind him. He was confused and concerned about Nekoi. Snape knew that if anything happened to the family he was the only one to take care of her, but he wondered if it would be safe for her to be around a follower of Voldomort. The only explanation he could think of to keep Nekoi safe was that he would bring Nekoi to Hogwarts. She would be safe there and she would soon be old enough to attend classes. Starting September Snape was going to bring his god daughter to school to protect her from the evils that where around even Snape himself.
