Disclaimer:I don't own anything from Artemis Fowl; Eoin Colfer does.

Let's say goodbye with a smile, dear

I saw you smiling, not a real smile, but induced by mesmer...so I couldn't smile back. Even though this was the goodbye; I couldn't say anything, or smile just one last time at your dumb genius.

Just for a while, dear, we must part.

I know that you won't be back, though; not this time.

Don't let the parting upset you,

Of course, I won't let on to anyone that I'll miss you. That would give too many wrong impressions, and the last thing I need is another tribunal.

I'll not forget you, sweetheart.

I won't forget you, though. I laugh at the thought of forgetting Artemis Fowl, and impossible feat in itself.

We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when,

And yet, there is something inside of me...a spark of hope, that you'll come back someday.

But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day.

And ridiculous as it sounds...I believe in that hope. But isn't that what hopes are for? To be believed in, to have faith in?

Keep smiling through, just like you always do,

So until you return, I'll keep going.

'Til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.

But oh, how bleak tomorrow looks, without the promise of thrilling and frightening adventures.

So will you please say hello to the folks that I know,

Tell them I won't be long.

That sneaking hope - or is it a suspicion? - is growing. I won't tell Foaly or the others, though.

They'll be happy to know that as you saw me go,

I was singing this song.

As much as I cherish, even love my friends, there are some things I can't burden them with. And some things I don't dare tell them.

After the rain comes the rainbow,

I think what a lot of us can't remember, though, is that there always is a rainbow.

You'll see the rain go, never fear,

Even when we can't see it.

We two can wait for tomorrow,

So I'll preserve that hope inside.

Goodbye to sorrow, my dear.

And I'll wait, no matter how long it takes.

A somewhat random songfic I started writing, stopped writing, then finished recently. Hope you all like it, comments and constructive criticism are always welcome, and the song is We'll Meet Again by Johnny Cash.(The version I listen to, at any rate.) Oh, and it's post-TEC, in case anyone wasn't sure.
