Spoken For...
Admiral Janeway's viral serum has a temporal component. Perhaps she can save two relationships...
She could feel it, as everything fragmented around her for a second time. Dissolving Borg consoles interspersed with leaves, sunlight, the eerie green hue of alcove power couplings. Faces, mostly Borg, some organic... she knew it had reached back in time, permeated the heart of the Collective mind. But had it worked ? She would never know, not in this timeline and, with luck, that was also now fragmenting forever...
The Captain, B'Elanna and Tuvok or rather three grotesque Borg caricatures materialised on the transporter pad. Unimatrix zero was no more and Voyager was still intact although she had taken a nasty beating. B'Elanna supported the Captain and Tuvok managed to limp along behind as they headed to sickbay. No sooner were they through the doors and designated bio-beds then Seven teleported in from the cargo bay with another drone that materialised on the floor next to her.
"Sick bay to the Bridge. Commander Chakotay, we have been boarded by Borg. Seven has just materialised in here with a drone. It seems to be inactive." The Doctor immediately activated a containment field around bio-bed 4 and placed the inert drone onto it, just as security burst through the sickbay doors.
What was left of Captain Janeway struggled to a sit up and beckoned Seven over and hit her Comm "Commander Chakotay, stand down red alert. We are in no danger. The drone is a very good friend of Seven's and the Doctor is now removing his transceiver array" she nodded at the Doctor who proceeded as requested. "Perhaps you should come down here.." as she was speaking the Commander burst through sickbay doors "already here Captain."
With the last of her strength Kathryn got up and dragged herself over to the edge of the forcefield and put her hand on Seven's shoulder and looked her in the eye. Seven turned with a serene look on her face "Commander Chakotay, May I introduce you to my partner, Axum."
The Queen was dead and she would be any second too. Her recently assimilated brain hearing the death throes of so many but through the noise, a faint voice from a distant transceiver that she recognised as her own... "We did it Admiral. Axum is here and Seven is spoken for".
